Upon learning that his father has been kidnapped, Austin Powers must travel to 1975 and defeat the aptly named villain Goldmember, who is working with Dr. Evil.
This movie reveals Austin and Basil Exposition both attended the same academy and knew each other years before the events of the first movie. However, at the beginning of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), when Basil warns Austin and Mrs. Kensington that Dr. Evil is setting a trap for him at the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swingers Club. Basil introduces himself, and that he works for British Intelligence. This may be considered bad writing on Mike Myers' part, as Austin and Basil wouldn't have met each other prior to Austin being frozen in 1967.
When Dr. Evil is demonstrating the Global Flood Plan, after the meteor hits him in the crotch, the globe model inexplicably disappears as he gets up.
