Hidden within the Wicked Pictures catalog is this excellent vehicle for contract star Devinn Lane, well worth rediscovering two decades after release.
The simple but effective story has Lane inheriting a Nevada brothel owned by her late husband Larry, and after initial qualms getting with the program and becoming fully involved in running the business.
Veteran Adult screenwriter George Kaplan's incisive script begins with the familiar clash of life styles and philosophies, as the prostitutes defend their choices to become working girls, led by lovely Ava Vincent who runs the place, while Lane is hard-pressed to criticize them vs. accusations of her living the high life off of her husband, while neglecting to look into where his money was coming from.
One interesting wrinkle is that each of the prostitutes has a significant marketing skill, that Devinn ends up exploiting to give her customers more than merely a happy ending. Ava is a financial whiz, Alex Foxe a computer expert, Gwen Summers a newly graduated lawyer, etc. Only busty Renee LaRue seems simply a sex worker, but a fine one at that.
Key subplot is injected with Mickey G. as the nominal bad guy, a politician who sends his employee Inari Vachs to infiltrate the bordello, but she turns on him leading to a happy finish.
Oddest wrinkle is that Lane has a threeway scene with Mickey & LaRue, in which she dons a strap-on dildo for pegging, Mickey giving his all in surprisingly kinky content for a major studio (Wicked) porn feature.
