  • For young teens, this is a very exciting kids series. It's about Mark Hollander, a Brit transplanted in America(Canada), who has a secret friend: Ace Lightning. Ace is only comic book hero to Chuck Mugel and Mark's other school yard friends but he appears as a living holographic image to young Mr. Hollander. The series is a clichéd combination of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Re-Boot(especially the former) but it makes good use of these clichés. My son never misses an episode and I'm starting to get hooked myself. The plot twists are always fast and fresh. Well recommended family viewing. Unfortunately, the second season is inferior to the first season.

Super fun and funny show. I liked the adventures and the computer animation was very good for a comedy show mostly for kids, at that time anyway. Not sure where to see this now anyone know?
  • This is a great show for teens. It has some really fun moments and the animation and action are well done. It is very funny at times and I can say from experience young teens (especially boys) love this one.

I remember when I first started watching Ace Lightning as a kid which aired every Saturday morning seeing video game characters come to life and interact with our world which I thought was awesome. I immediately took a liking to Lord Fear and cheered him on every episode I watched even though he was a villain lol

Dont get me wrong I love Ace himself and think he's awesome but I love villains and loved Lord Fear even more. This show did a great job blending a superhero story with awesome CG animation

You could hardly find DVD and VHS tapes of it back in the day because there weren't that many and after a few years as i grew older I had an urge to start watching Ace Lightning because at that time i'v never seen season 2 and only a couple of episodes in season 1. Never thought I would until stumbling across all 39 episodes, both seasons on Youtube

Last night I finished another rewatch of this amazing series and you can tell this series had vision. They were always building upon what they had already built in the earlier episodes, raising the stakes when it came to Mark Hollander trying to juggle his personal life as well as help Ace take on Lord Fear and his Carnival of Doom. It even taught life lessons on friendship, loyalty, standing up for yourself and those around you. In a way it's a like a coming of age

If the first season was awesome then season 2 was even better because not only it raised the stakes and introduced a new villain called Kilobyte who I still hate for picking on Lord Fear, but Kilobyte is indeed a great character. However, it isn't until the last two episodes where he becomes dangerous by having a mind of his own and no longer controlled by his programmer

Although not all the human characters were great but the ones that were are Mark, his best friend Chuck who ends up learning Mark's secret about Ace Lightning coming to life and helps him and Mark, Mr. Chesebrough a grumpy old science teacher who gets caught in the middle and even sided with Lord Fear on a few occasions, Samantha and a girl called Kat

If you haven't seen this series yet and you want too, you can watch all 39 episodes on Youtube for free. Trust me, man. You'll love it.
