Some years before director Kovi developed his epic Porn Wars trilogy, he tried his hands at that other famous Lucasfilm franchise in a duo of 'Indiana Mack' adventures. In this first adventure, 'Sex in the Jungle' we are witness to Mack's rather unimpressive origin story. The story begins at a posh outdoor party held in Spain where none of the hats seem to fit the people they are resting on. A tuxedo clad braggart called Mack (Nick Lang) passes out and is loaded onto a plane by Mario and his blond girlfriend (Claudia Janson). Mario puts on the auto pilot so the pair of them can get down to some unfinished business they 'neglected the night before'. Their journey from Spain to Santa Domingo is mapped out in customary Indiana Jones fashion with maps and red lines. However, Mack himself is out cold the entire time, B.A. Baracus style. It turns out the two young lovers flew all that way just to dump Mack (top hat and all) in a snake invested piece of jungle. Mack stumbles into the wasteland, but soon collapses and is found by three native girls (Peggy Sue, Sharone and Eva Black) who do their utmost to 'revive' him. Later on he finds himself surrounded by a group of completely different male natives who want to have him for dinner and has to make a run for it 'Raiders' style.
Mack runs into a female archaeologist (Henriette Blond) who sends the natives running the other way. She claims to be looking for a lost colleague, but apparently doesn't have much hope of finding him as she immediately hands Mack her former partners clothes. This includes a rather pathetic looking fedora with a much to small brim. Blond then starts calling her new partner 'Indiana Mack', simply because her old partner was from Indiana. Sure, that makes sense. As soon as 'Indy' joins her in her quest for a powerful medallion, they find it in a cave. Great writing there. Immediately after that they are captured by two mercenaries (Leslie Taylor & Choky Ice), who want to get their hands on the medallion too, but will settle for Henrietta Blond first. She tires them out, Mack spends another long sex scene watching from the sidelines, and after the two bad 'uns have fallen asleep, our heroes make their escape.
Next they hitch a ride with dark hared Betty (Sheila Scott) in her red Toyota, which conveniently runs out of gas, so Blondie goes to fetch a cannister while Betty and Mack wait around and screw. Later on Betty singlehandedly saves our lazy heroes from their pursuers when they reach town. She even takes the two men home to meet her girlfriend (Monique Vanda) for a foursome. It certainly pays to be a henchmen in adult features. Meanwhile Mack and the archaeologist want to hire a boat, but as they have no money, Blondie pays for it with her body. At least this time Mack doesn't stay to watch them going at it. Blondie and Indy meet up again on the other side of the beach (Mack having apparently walked the long way round) and finally consummate their em, partnership. What was the point of that? They had the amulet all along and it never even served a purpose. It can be argued that Mack's McGuffin is better explained in the sequel, 'Sex in the Desert', but then again I'm pretty sure Kovi and co pretty much made the meager story line of this first Indy feature up as they went along. Impressive scenery though.
