In Legion, you don't get para wings during basic training. Although all new legionnaires are wearing them.
In the "old days" the 2nd REP didn't do the basic training with in the Foreign Legion, this was done by the GILE (Groupement d'Instruction Légion Etrangère) based in Mascara, and the 2nd REP was based then in Bou Sfer, Algeria.
