  • With those credentials, you'd expect this to be diabolical but actually it's worth watching. The topics discussed are always relevant and entertaining to debate, and the audience and viewers are allowed to have a say so it isn't just Wright and some Z-list celebs talking about nonsense. Matthew Wright is a great presenter who never manages to be dull, never spends too long on a topic and keeps the panel of guests in control. There isn't much more to say besides it being an entertaining and useful look at the recent news, and certainly the best thing on during the daytime in the week. To see what it could have been like you can flip over to ITV and watch 'Loose Women' for as long as you can bear it.

Unfortunately, for the rest of the daytime Channel 5 reverts to those mind games programmes with glaring pink studios that seem to go on for hours. When they're on, you're probably better off watching the BBC with "To buy or not to buy" "Car booty", "Cash in the Attic", "Bargain Hunt", "Flog it!" "Homes under the hammer"… ENOUGH!
  • This show is complete rubbish, produced by dummies, hosted by dummies, and watched by dummies. Part of me appreciates the fact they are trying to raise awareness of important issue etc... but they just do it in such a lame way. They view EVERY single stupid issue, as a true/false, yes/no, right/wrong, kind of issue, and 99% of the time, its not! For that reason alone, they always miss the point, they always make themselves look like a bunch of idiots, and they always annoy me.

I don't particularly care because its daytime TV, and daytime TV is aimed at housewives with no brain. But the fact is, these housewives are like the backbone of the UK. If they are bright, they won't watch the show. And if they are a bit thick, then the show should educate them, but it fails at that.

So basically, it fails as entertainment, and it fails as education. So the only people who actually enjoy it, are dummies who think they are watching some cutting edge political news program, when really, they are just a bunch of nose pickers, watching a guy with a fake tan and a stupid face.
  • I must agree with the other reviewers. I recently had a baby and was not looking forward to the usual daytime drivel on television whilst on maternity leave. This programme was such a saving grace and is such a refreshing change.

The varying panel provides a mixed view of perspectives on topical subjects and Mathew Wright oversees proceedings in a light hearted but sensitive manner.

It is an excellent way to get an overview of the daily papers and controversial discussion points. The contributions from the public and the audience help to keep the pace of the show lively.

The only criticism I do have is for the final segment of the show in which members of the public are encouraged to call up with problems for discussion with an expert. I'm not at all sure that this is suitable given the fast paced nature of the show and you are often left feeling as though some very vulnerable people's serious problems have been rushed through. However I understand that this is a new-ish segment to the show and I am sure that with time they will get it (w)right.

    Thoroughly enjoyable overall!
  • Witty, bright - something to get your brain going in the morning! Very popular with students apparently (myself included!) Starting off with a summary of the morning papers and then three topical discussion points.

There's usually a serious topic - domestic violence, the war on terror to name a couple; something funny and light-hearted - back to the stocks for youth offenders!; and something in between.

The new extended show (90 minutes) includes a (usually) health section with an expert from the field discussing anything from diet, sex, relationships, wine, food and even pets with love life problems on a Friday.

The banter between Matthew Wright and the panel guests (and the callers and audience) is funny, witty, and I challenge you not to be joining in the discussion from your armchair! Watch out for Wrighty complaining about coppers nabbing him on his bike in the park! V funny!
