Sigourney Weaver is set to reprise her role in the 9/11-themed play The Guys as part of a 10th anniversary tribute to those who lost their lives in the horrific terrorist attacks.
The Alien star will return to the stage to play a journalist who helps a fire captain memorialise the men he lost at Ground Zero.
Weaver first took on the role in the months following the 2001 atrocities and the actress is eager to revisit the production, so she can again honour the fallen.
She tells the New York Post, "(At first everyone enjoyed) being together in a room for an hour and a half and being allowed to think about what had happened... Once the lights go down, you are open in a way you are not open when you are watching the news or reading the paper. You can think about things and have emotions and disagree and experience what's going on in the world in a more personal way."
The Guys will be staged at the Museum of Jewish Heritage for a two-night run, beginning on Wednesday.
Weaver's husband, Jim Simpson, will direct.

From the angry Fahrenheit 9/11 to the depressing Hamburg Cell, films about September 11 have journeyed through the five stages of grief. Now with weepies Dear John and Remember Me, the movies have come to terms with the defining event of our age
Everything is peachy at the beginning of Dear John, Lasse Hallstrom's new weepie about a soldier's star-crossed romance with a college student. That's because it's spring 2001, a time when the idea of hijacked planes slamming into the twin towers was as far-fetched as a black president or airport body scans. Midway through the film, of course, the planes finally hit, forcing Channing Tatum to leave Amanda Seyfried and do his bit for God and country. That's right, people. In just nine years, the defining event of our age has become the reason why the guy from Step Up can't be with the girl from Mamma Mia!

For the fourth consecutive year Hollywood has selected its Black List, a compilation of the top unproduced screenplays for 2009. Over 300 film professionals were asked to submit the titles of up to ten of their favorite screenplays. The only condition for the picks were that the projects would not be released in theaters this year. That means some of the Black List honorees may be in the process of being turned into movies but by far the majority remain thoughts on digital ink, a blueprint for grand dramatic ideas, high-reaching adventure and controversial ideas waiting to be burned to light.
For a screenplay to have made it onto the Black List it must have received at least five votes for it. Some scripts have five votes while the top-rated screenplay received 47 votes. That doesn't mean that the script with the most votes is the best screenplay of the year; it means...

Alien star Sigourney Weaver is back in demand - a movie she made based on September 11 is at the center of a frantic bidding war between studio bosses. The screen adaptation of The Guys, based on a one-act play by Anne Nelson - commissioned by Manhattan's Flea Theater as a response to the terrorist attacks - had its gala premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 11 earlier this month. And the positive response has led studios to start competing for the rights to place the flick on general release. Actor Anthony LaPaglia, who plays a New York fire captain in the film, says, "My understanding is it's quite competitive right now as to who will get it." He adds of the film, "It does not exploit the people who lost their lives. It's someone trying to deal wit the loss, and someone else trying to help him. "You're not seeing the towers; you're not seeing the destruction."...
