American Idol judge Katy Perry is in need of a replacement as she gears up for her departure from the hit singing competition after appearing for seven seasons. Fellow judge Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest revealed they have a few names in mind, one of them being pop star Meghan Trainor. On Monday’s Idol episode, Trainor appeared as a coach, engaging the competing singers and lending her expertise as the current Season 22 has narrowed down its contestants to the Top 10. Bryan and Seacrest spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Trainor’s charismatic presence on the show this season. “I think Meghan’s always been real fun,” Bryan told Et. “You know, that’s kinda been her brand, to have fun. [She’s] real witty, so certainly.” However, Bryan also admitted he’s got at least “10 names” in his head as possible judges. Though he wasn’t ready to share any of the names,...

The Monday, April 22 live episode of “American Idol” Season 22 proved to be the end of the road for two fan-fave singers: Jayna Elise and Roman Collins. They were the only artists in the Top 12 that failed to earn enough votes from viewers to make it into next week’s all-important Top 10. Host Ryan Seacrest delivered the unfortunate news in front of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The guest mentor for “Billboard #1 Hits” night was Meghan Trainor.
Throughout the competition, Jayna sang tunes like “The Climb” (Auditions round), “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (Showstopper round), “Confident” (Top 24 round), “My All”, “All I Wanted”, “I Have Nothing” (Top 14 round) and “Diamonds” (Top 12 round). The 22-year-old performer from Washington, D.C. actually began her journey last year on “Idol,” but was eliminated prior to the Season 21 live shows. The good news is that she made it much further this time around.

We’re still throwing things at artists during concerts?
Over the weekend, Luke Bryan slipped on a fan-thrown cellphone and fell onstage, landing on his back, during a show in Vancouver. Thankfully, he was unscathed, and he joked about the whole thing mid-show.
The country star and American Idol judge laughed at the moment as he held up the phone. “Hold up! Did anybody get that?” he said to the crowd. “It’s Ok. My lawyer will be calling.”
Bryan then grabbed another fan’s phone, after they recorded the incident.

Luke Bryan has a message for the concertgoer that interrupted his set over the weekend.
Luke suddenly fell on his back after slipping on a cell phone during a performance at the Coast City Country Festival in Vancouver, Canada.
The country crooner, thankfully, wasn’t hurt during the fall.
Luke couldn’t stop laughing at himself as he took a moment to get up.
With cameras everywhere, the American Idol judge wanted to know if anyone caught the fall.
Clearly, the answer was yes because the footage has been all over social media.
