  • Warning: Spoilers
This is one of a milestone movie, which did not do the best at the box office. But still this film can be applauded for its screenplay, music and message to the society. The plot revolves around how Sathyamoorthy alias Sathyaa (played by the veteran actor Kamal Hassan) is betrayed and used by the local corrupt politicians.

Sathya is a educated, unemployed and middle-class family youth. He and his friends roam around the streets, hangs out at the nearby railways station, goes home at late night. They almost resembled the late 80s and early 90s unemployed youths of Tamil Nadu. Though are unemployed, they have a social involvement, which attracts the local corrupt politician (played by Kitty.. voiced by the well known singer SP Balasubramainum) and his assistant (Janakaraj). Sathyaa misunderstands them as good people and does everything that was assigned to him without any questions. After an event, he understands he has been used and played by the corrupts.. what he does as a payback is the rest of the movie... !!!

The plot seemed raw and well supported by the all time favorite music maestro Ilayaraja. Still this is the movie considered to be the best of Suresh Krishna.. who is very well known for making commercial movies only.
  • Excellent Songs by Illayaraja, Excellent Casting & Acting.

Exceeds the original through better screenplay and Acting/Action sequences

Debut directorial of Suresh Krishna whose carrier ended with Baba.

Pre-90s Unemployment issues well portrayed which ended after Globalization in India

Most kids used to keep this hairstyle and the ornament Gada, Kamalhassan wears in his hand is still followed by most upcoming actors

Movie to be watched by 2k Kids who loves Kamalhassan after Vikram 2 (2022) but can know a lot about him by watching 80s movies like Apporva Sagotharargal, Salangai Oli, Pesum Padam, Guna and 90s movies like Thevar Magan.
