Selene, a vampire warrior, is entrenched in a conflict between vampires and werewolves, while falling in love with Michael, a human who is sought by werewolves for unknown reasons.
(at around 26 mins) When Selene first encounters Lucien, she gets cornered by Lycans and fires her guns through the floor in order to escape. Eleven years prior, this cinematic stunt was performed by the main character in the 1992 film Nemesis (1992).
The war had all but ground to a halt in the blink of an eye. Lucian, the most feared and ruthless leader ever to rule the Lycan clan, had finally been killed. The Lycan horde scattered to the wind in a single evening of flame and retribution. ...
(at around 9 mins) The bullets shown in the close-ups have little glass "windows" on the shell casings, and show the UV liquid or liquid silver nitrate inside (at around 38 mins). If this were a real bullet, there would be no room in the shell for gunpowder. A shell casing is ejected from an automatic weapon, not actually part of the slug/projectile as depicted in the movie.
The Lakeshore Entertainment logo is shaded blood red.
In the original release of the movie, Jázmin Dammak played the part of Sonja, Viktor's daughter, in the flashback scenes, however after the release of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), a version is available (most notably on U.S. Netflix) where scenes with Rhona Mitra were inserted in place of the original scenes.
