  • Warning: Spoilers
. . . by helicopter blades during the filming of the unlucky 13th Eon Production Company James Bond outing, INSIDE OCTOPU$$Y reports. (Said kids were done in, along with actor Vic Morrow, during the shooting of another 1983 flick--TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE). However, OCTOPU$$Y resulted in two stunt men being seriously injured, several others having brushes with the Grim Reaper, and production designer Peter Lamont surviving a real-life airliner hijacking which left one person dead. Seemingly only the tiger which "charged" Bond in a riff on the short story\1932 movie THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME prevailed in one piece (since it was dead and stuffed already, this inside look reveals). It appears anyone involved in the making of OCTOPU$$Y, from the crew shoe-shine boy to the cast payroll clerk, gets to contribute their two cents' worth to this retrospective, as long as they still were alive and kicking in 2000. The fact that Eon's first "James Bond," Sean Connery, was openly making a rival, "renegade" Bond feature (NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN) during OCTOPU$$Y's filming is mentioned in passing here, but further perspective should have been given to this interesting angle.
  • This extra on the Octopussy Blu-ray consists of cast and crew members remembering their experiences while making the 13th official James Bond entry. Some interesting tidbits include Maud Adams having worked with fellow Swedish actresses while both making this and her previous Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun, and contrasts of filming in India and doing recreations at Pinewood Studios in England. Highly recommend for Bond fans.
