  • Yeah, the plot is recycled from the series and the gold saint don't last long, but who cares? This is not a franchise you like because of its non--linear, audacious storytelling anyway. The single dream sequence with Aphrodite Pisces telling one of the most poetic lines out of all the Saint Seiya franchise is alone worthy of the ride. If you don't have the patience to appreciate this samurai/warrior poet version of the character because you can't envision anything other than punching punching punching from your bog-standard battle shonen, move along and drool over the fake pisces Albafica from the Lost Canvas and leave the guy to us his fans who understand and love him for what he truly is.

This was the first "Saint Seiya" movie that I've watched in my life: In some ways it was slightly different than the other movies, but in many ways, it was practically more of the same usual stuff: A new enemy appears, the new enemy kidnaps the goddess Athena/Saori; Seiya and company went to fight against this new enemy and they battle separately the minions of this new enemy, and at the last moment, when everything seems lost, Seiya uses the Sagittarius Gold Cloth to defeat the new enemy, and Athena and the World are saved.

But despite that, I still enjoyed this movie a bit more than the others, since it had a slightly more complex story and a better character development. Sure, at the end, this sticks to the classic formula which I described above, but unlike the other movies, this was more entertaining to watch, and had some interesting and beautiful scenes.

The animation and the designs were pretty good, being on of the most impressive works ever done by the great Shingo Araki: The fighting scenes were impressive and cool, and the music composed by the great Seiji Yokoyama is wonderful as always, giving this film a truly epic feeling despite of the predictability of the plot.

The last scene was very beautiful, being, in my opinion one of the most memorable moments in the entire "Saint Seiya" history.
  • Not much to say. I love the movie.

If you haven't seen Saint Seiya, then off course u'll find this movie annoying and will make no sense at all.

But if you have seen the series (at least till Seiya and his friends come back from Asgard) this movie will touch you forever.

Following the line of the sagas, and just using couple of characters from the anime Shigeyasu Yamauchi makes this art piece from nowhere, which by the way, every time i see it, i have a flashback to my childhood...

Sweet times, beautiful times and a beautiful movie.

Saint Seiya is one of the most beloved animes for people who grew in the 80s-90s. The series is inspired in the famous Masami Kurumada's manga "Saint Seiya" (Knights of the zodiac)

If you appreciate Japanese animes, specially the 80s ones, this movie will definitely make it for you.

It has great character design, great animation, great storytelling and mostly the music. Seiji Yokoyama's compositions are at his prime in this movie. Just take a listen of every single song of every scene of the movie and you will understand what I'm telling you about.

I have watched it every single time I get a chance and enjoyed every single minute.

    A must see.

(You need to see the Saint Seiya series to get this movie, if not, take a pass).

Then in 1988 the third film dedicated to the Saint Seiya anime was released then in this film Athena's brother appears or Phoebus the god of the sun who who was finding his sister is Athena decided to leave her Knights to follow her brother Phoebus accompanied from his the knights ofgod of the sun or the knights of the crown of light and Chioma of Berenice is then another great surprise it is true Phoebus brought to life the golden knights who had died during the fighting at the twelve times or who are crab twins Cabra Aquarius and fish and this was itthe incredible surprise This film managed to anticipate where the creator who was creating the Hades saga since almost the same thing that also happens in that Saga is Phoebus decided to suspend all this and wants to cancel the earth but Athena is not d 'agreement so the brother isforced to extinguish her life and our heroes as usual must save her So what do I think of this third film So for me as you have read the title it is the best of all the films in this franchise and you want to know what the difference this time compared to the previous two films thatThis time it doesn't last 45 minutes but it lasts an hour and 12. It's this bad Phoebus. I found him to be a truly wonderful adversary of our heroes and then his three followers. I found him to be very good adversaries unlike those in the previous film. Apple will also be there. A big discount for the return ofSyrian golden knights against the crab knights It was truly a twist that in this case he was the one to keep the best against him but Andromeda against the fish knights didn't really come out to beat him but as usual once again Ikki intervenes again that hereally had to beat him without problems Well it's not a mistake since I consider the Knights of the Fishes to be the poorest of the Golden Knights and then they really struggle too much to succeed in this undertaking and the final battle was very beautiful and this time not only seiya wears matureof gold but they also wear sirio hyoga who wear the golden armor that belongs to their masters this was truly a wonderful novelty in this third chapter But there is a problem I really can't connect it Which part in the anime this movie I really can't understand it butfor me it will remain the most beautiful of the Saint Seiya films to conclude the vote 9.
  • This is the only Saint Seiya movie I've watched so far. It's basically the classic "Saori/Athena is the damsel in distress, race against time" plot condensed in a single movie. Fights that would usually last at least two episodes only last five minutes in this movie.

What sparked my interest in this movie, and I bet there are other fans who felt the same, was the return of the dead gold saints. Will they fight different opponents? Will they have their revenge against the bronze saints who killed them? My interest was crushed during the movie. Shura and Camus have almost cameo-like appearances. Deathmask looks more like the kind of villain I expect to see in American cartoons.

Aphrodite actually shows he learned with his death and was quite ready for Shun. Unfortunately, just like in the Hades saga, Aphrodite is demoted from one of the strongest gold saints to a second class villain.

I would recommend this movie to Gemini Saga's fans, however. Nevertheless, it seems that these five saints were put in the movie simply to make people watch it.

What annoys me the most is this: if you watched the Poseidon saga, the last 20 minutes of the movie will be boring for you. In fact, they will make you feel like you wasted your time by watching it.

Some positives. The animation is clearly better than in the series. Very good acting from Taichirô Hirokawa, Keiko Han and Tôru Furuya (although I bet he didn't like saying "Saori-San!" so many times). Overall, you can live without this movie. And maybe you should watch this before the Poseidon saga. At least you'll have Shaina in the series to make it better.
