  • Great timeless comedy. Even after 40 years of its initial release, this movie is funny and entertaining. Mehmood's best performance ever. Other actor's performances are good too. In 1992, this movie was remade by David Dhawan as "Aankhen" with Govinda, Chunky pandey and Kader Khan. Songs of this movie are good too. Now I want to see more movies made by Mehmood. All these years I thought Govinda tries to copy Kishore Kumar. But after watching this movie I realized that he tries to copy Mehmood. Now I also understand why Mehmood was considered king of comedy. I never really liked his comedy until I watched this movie. And now I am a big fan.
  • S Ramanathan has a deep sense of Comedy and ergo he is successful in making such Great Humorous Movies. You must watch Do Phool where you will uncover the real genius of Mehmood Ali. The way he has given variations to the film merely inspired me with awe. Mehmood Ali was indeed a Legend and will stay forever in the minds of people. Vinod Mehra, Aruna Irani, Anjana Mumtaz too were perfect and outstanding for their roles. And with no bias, Ashok Kumar, Jeevan, Yashodhra Katju, Lalita Pawar and Rama Prabha were the pillars of the Film, without them this Movie wouldn't standout. Rama Prabha was so adorable when she entered as Rukmini.

Casting Director has done a wonderful Job.

Dance Choreography (specially of Muthu kodi kawari hada) was so hilarious as well as so appealing.

All Songs Maaf Karo, Lailo Shabab Aayi, Muthu kodi kawari hada are just amazing.

    Fight Choreography too was hilarious.

Music also took to where the film has gone. It was so connecting.

Art Direction was outstanding and very impressive.

Associates and Assistants have done their job wonderfully.

Afterall, it is all about team work and all have done a great job.

    Cheers to the team..

Thank you S RAMANATHAN for your endearing contribution...
  • Who born in 70's can forget " mutokodi kawadi hada" " ma ma maaf karo ja ja janedo" we as kid heard this songs that time played on radio. This is definitely one of the evergreen Bollywood comedy though Ankhein the remake was not bad but this is just superb. All actors did a fantabulous job be vinod, mehmood, aruna, anjana , the South actress paired with one of mehmood character ( her expressions are too good in songs). This is full time pass movie if you have not seen it yet , suggesting watch with your family. I am sure you will definitely have a good Bollywood movie time. This one will not let you get bored.
  • This has got to be one of the best Hindi comedies till date. In fact this movie was the basis for a big hit movie: 'Aankhen', *-ing Govinda-Chunky Pandey and directed by the current king of Hilarious movies, David Dhawan. The movie has the late Mehmood and the late Vinod Mehra giving their best performances in lead roles. The script was really cool and the direction was really great. The late and great Ashok Kumar or Dad Muni as he was popularly known was very good in a role that was custom made for him. Mehmood himself was superb in the two roles which he portrayed in the movie. All in all a great popcorn movie which has everything for the whole family.

    Gets a ****1/2 out of *****
  • Warning: Spoilers
This movie was Mehmood at his best

The movie is just like AANKHEN(1993) with the same two sons mistaken for the other along with a gang of baddies whose plot is discovered by two loafers

The climax with Ashok Kumar boxing is funny along with when both Mehmoods are taken in the other one's house mistaken for the other This movie has many key bits of entertainment

Mehmood is the best in his double role which keeps you fooled but makes you laugh Aruna Irani is OK Vinod Mehra is OK Anjana is OK Ashok Kumar is funny Ramaprabha is hilarious
