  • Not a terrible way to spend a rainy Sunday night, folding laundry.

It's not anything we've never seen before: boy meets girl, boy falls

in love with girl, girl is already engaged to very successful Mr.

Perfect pro-hockey player. But anymore now, it's not the stories that

drive these kinds of predictible romantic potboilers; you have to

have likeable actors who can pull off likeable "cute" without looking

like annoying Olsen Twins "cute". In this case, they hired some

very cute actors to play easygoing, made-for-TV quirky characters,

especially Richard Ruccolo, whose characterization of a goofy, but

sincere caterer, keeps the schmaltzy moments grounded and you

can't help but root for him -- he reminds you of a best friend who

was always the nice guy who deserved a good relationship or just

someone your mother would want you to bring home. Watching it

makes you have to admit to yourself that for even the most devout

cynic, there is still that miniscule part that still wants to give true

    love a chance.
  • It really is a surprise to me a made-for-TV movie will be that enjoyable. If someone famous like Tom Hanks or J.Lo are in this movie. It's gonna be a huge hit. But all the actor/actress in this movie are good enough to beat anyone of them. Richard Ruccolo is one of main factor to make this movie funny. Hope he can make more good movie for us in the future. Anyway. U may find that this movie is impossible to be better than Hollywood movie. But it's free on TV man!!! Nothing beat that.
  • Wow, i was surprise that this is a movie for TV. I just watched it from the Hallmark channel and frankly i don't watch the channel a lot. This movie you can say is a every day romantic film that you can see from a lot of films. But it made me stuck on my TV to watch it.I think the simplicity of the movie is the magnet of this film. Richard Ruccolo's acting was really good in this film, i can really feel Michael Blake's character. The other cast, was okay, not the best, but fit perfect for the movie. The story really fits the bill with additional story linking with food in it. Nice writing. This film will make everybody think that the term true love is there. Good stuff.
  • This movie has its stereotype, but its small and many different injections of its own. The many scenes with its little life lessons and quotable lines and direction should make one think a little harder. Take in these little lessons and minuscule comments to heart because real life can be quoted, but in these quotes are left to bear more than consumed by a normal viewer. There are more than normal movie viewers out there that can read what I mean...if you don't maybe I just didn't make it clear that this movie has more meaning and to get you to watch it was to use a cliché love story....look and feel closely, this movie will surprise you...

My girlfriend and I watched The One with some friends, and we loved it! There was the romantic and fanciful daydreams and the reality of where the story was going, and we could all relate to the idea of "the one" person who you would be best with in a relationship. I recently read Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus at my girlfriend's suggestion, and the movie carried a lot of those ideas in an entertaining fashion. The actors were all great, and it is an excellent family film about love and finding the right person. Young or old, any dating couple would enjoy this movie.
  • The One is a wonderful movie. It is very similar to "The Wedding Planner", but is still it's own movie. Richard Ruccolo is great as Michael Blake, and it was great to see him again since his show went off the air. He is very adorable, and should have more roles! This movie was so great, I stayed up to watch the encore presentation. It really gets you think about whether or not "the One" really exists. I don't know when it will be on again, right now its not scheduled anytime soon, but definitely watch it with someone you love!
  • Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this film four times, and I think it is a pretty good movie.

    **Spoilers Ahead**

The movie is about Michael, a romantic chef, who daydreams about meeting the perfect girl, Jill, while he is in a restaurant. When he comes back to reality, he sends champagne over to her like he did in his daydream. After she receives the champagne, her fiance, Gordie Parks who just came in, comes over and punches Michael out, landing him in the hospital. Michael finds out that the girl of his dreams is actually named Gail, not Jill. Gordie finds out that Michael is a caterer and asks him to cater the wedding. Michael falls deeper and deeper in love with Gail, as he discovers that she is very much like him. Michael and Gail go shopping for everything for the wedding while Gordie hangs out with his hockey pals. Michael finally tells Gail that he loves her and she tells him that she is sorry; they can't see each other because everything is settled and she can't change her mind again. At the wedding, Michael interrupts when everyone is asked if there is no reason for them to be wed, and Gail finds out that Gordie really doesn't know much about her. Later on, Gail comes back and she and Michael start going out.

One thing that I didn't like is that in the movie, there is a lot of strong language that does not belong on family channels.
  • I absolutely loved this movie! I am a huge hockey fan and that was what basically attracted me to this movie (shallow reason, I know.) But, I loved every minute of it and hope it will be out for purchase soon- this is one of those movies you could watch again and again and again!! But god, I wish I was in Meredith Monroe's decision choosing between a pro hockey player and a cute caterer! ;) You'll love it!
