PG-13 | | Action, Crime, Thriller
A young man receives an emergency phone call on his cell phone from an older woman. The catch? The woman claims to have been kidnapped; and the kidnappers have targeted her husband and child next.
The phone that Ryan is using is actually not functioning, but he did have an earpiece in so he could talk to someone.
Mom, will you still be a science teacher when I get into high school?
Jessica Martin: Hmm... You never know. Why?
Ricky Martin: 'Cause I think it'd be kind of weird to have your mom as a teacher.
Sgt. Mooney goes to Jessica's house to investigate whether or not she was actually kidnapped. He is greeted by Dana Baybeck who is pretending to be Jessica. Later when he sees the news report about Ryan, he calls Jessica's house and hears her voice on the answering machine. It is only then that he realizes the difference between the voice of the real Jessica and the woman who answered the door. However, Mooney should've already noticed the difference between the two voices because he had spoken to the real Jessica when Ryan handed him the phone at the police station earlier on. Did he forget what she sounded like that quickly?
The first part of the closing credits show cast and crew names on cellular telephone screens, in scenes from the film.
