Monkeys is a BBC television film based on the book; The DeLorean Tapes, which transcribes the original FBI entrapment tapes of John DeLorean.

DeLorean was portrayed by Manning Redwood and the low budget film is an early work directed by Danny Boyle, now a noted and Oscar winning director.

Its rather stylishly directed and fast moving, Redwood gives a good impression of DeLorean and the film has a rather tongue in cheek style to it.

The subject matter was the charge DeLorean faced in 1982 of trafficking cocaine and his procedural defence of entrapment that was successful. The film has been rarely seen since its original broadcast.
