Absolutely wonderful
I have just viewed this wonderful heartwarming movie on the Hallmark Channel. William Devane was so terrific as the dad and Meredith Baxter Birney was also wonderful as the mom. The younger supporting players were so moving and wonderfully portrayed their characters. I knew the ending and won't give it away here but my heart broke because my son is gone from me and I cried the whole time during this movie. God Bless all our children out there.

Quotes

Matthew: ...it's like light and dark. The moonlight touches down on the field and becomes apart of its beauty. Darkness is also it's light. What do you see when you look out there? Do you see the darkness or the moonlight? Or both? Can you separate the two? ...

Goofs

John Boyajian's uniform. He has the 7th Special Forces Flash on his beret, but 7th SFG(A) did not deploy to either Operation Desert Shield or Desert Storm. He furthermore wears the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Govt. of Kuwait) and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Govt. of Saudi Arabia) ribbons on his rack, but these where not awarded till after the end of Operation Desert Storm. Also he wears his name shield incorrectly over his right breast pocket (the place where his Distinctive Unit Insignia should have been) instead of centered on the flap of his right breast pocket. Besides that he doesn't know how to wear his beret and his uniform seems to large he doesn't wear his pants bloused over jump boots.

Crazy Credits

Just before the Closing Credits' music begins, after George Boyagian takes Matthew to Interstate 35 they salute each other. Then Matthew appears like George's late son, John, as a Green Beret for approximately ten seconds. After Matthew turns around to start walking away, he vanishes, about two or three blocks after he started to walk away from George, fulfilling his duties on Earth, of restoring a Christmas spirit, to a family that started hating the holiday, after losing a son on December 24th, 1997 or 1998, from combat in Desert Storm, in Iraq.
