Miracle tells the true story of Herb Brooks (Kurt Russell), the player-turned-coach who led the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the seemingly invincible Russian squad.
The young men chosen to portray the members of Team USA, were chosen primarily for their hockey skills, due to the intense nature of the filming; acting ability was secondary. In fact, for most of them, this was their first major film.
You're missing some of the best players.
Herb Brooks: I'm not looking for the best players, Craig. I'm looking for the right ones.
After the USA takes the lead 4-3 with 10 minutes to play, the movie depicts 12 shots on goal against Craig just during those final 10 minutes. In real life, the USSR only had 9 shots on goal for the entire 3rd period.
During the final Walt Disney Pictures logo, you hear Herb say, "Again," then a whistle blows and the logo goes off.
