Mr. Smith throws his suit coat into a mailbox when he realizes Mrs. Smith has placed a small bomb in it. Then the Smiths separately race back home. As they approach the house, in one shot, Mr. Smith is wearing his suit coat.
The car from Jane (the Mercedes) is clearly damaged when she escapes the car while John is still in it, as it drives through some bushes. Most likely she lost the car. However, when Jane drives back from the restaurant to her house, she is back in her old car.
Throughout the movie, Jane doesn't have any tattoos. When she is at the refrigerator after she and John make love, a tattoo can be seen on her forearm.
As John and Jane exit the basement just before their house blows up, John is carrying the HK pistol instead of the "girl's gun". Next shot, they switch guns and he is again carrying the revolver.
In the shootout in the department store, the second time they go into the elevator (when Jane tries to apologize for the knife), Jane is standing on the left holding an H&K MP5, and John is on the right, when they exit the elevator, Jane is on the right and is holding a handgun.
When John and Jane are in the elevator in the shoot-out in the "Home Made" mall, they each carry a HK MP5, and the cocking handles on both are clearly in the retracted 'up' position, as they are when being reloaded. In this position it is not possible to fire the weapon, which they both clearly do the very next second. If they *were* reloading, they clearly would not just stand waiting with the weapons as they do.
After the restaurant scene when John and Jane are driving their respective vehicles back to the house, John calls Jane and she reaches down to activate the hands-free system in her car, at which point the console is revealed, and while there is a beep, the screen is not on and there are no other lights on anywhere in the car, where there should definitely be some, hence indicating that the car is in fact not running. This is shown in multiple shots in which the console is clearly visible and clearly dark.
In the scene where Vince Vaughn doesn't "get out of bed for less than half a million dollars", when the reward information and physical description of Jane comes up, her eye color is incorrectly listed as Brown.
During the chase on the bridge, with Jane driving the mini-van, she presses the automatic hatch button causing it to open. However, for a vehicle to be able to use this capability, the van must be in park. Of course, since it opened during the chase and as they are spies, it is easy to believe that they made the doors/hatch operate even while driving.
During the race back home between Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Jane rams John's Lincoln with her Mercedes, there is no damage to her car, nor do the air bags go off. High end car such as a Mercedes is equipped with multiple air bags that would have deployed in an accident of that severity.
When John and Jane have dinner at home, Jane serves a roast that John describes as "pot roast, my favorite." However, the slice of beef that ends up on his plate is medium rare. Pot roast is always thoroughly cooked and is therefore always served well-done. This is in line with the character of Jane, since she is said to be a bad cook.
When John races home the first time (in the wrong car mentioned in another goof), he slows as he turns into his driveway and the camera angle shows the car's instrument cluster. Not only is it the wrong cluster for the Lincoln Town Car he was just shown in; not only is it dark, indicating the headlights aren't on even though they were just shown to be on; but the only things visible in the cluster are the engine, brake and SRS lights, indicating that the engine is OFF.
During the final fight scene, several rockets are fired at John and Jane. However, the rockets' velocity is way too slow for them to dodge in such a confined space.
When Jane rams John's car-jacked limo, she backs up to show virtually no damage to her car although she slammed into him fairly hard.
During the highway chase scene when they run one of the cars off the road into the water barrels, the flash of a detonation charge that bursts the barrels can be seen a split second before they hit them.
When John accidentally shoots Jane's car and she slams the brakes on, and then Jane floors the accelerator, it can be seen through the rear window that the car begins moving before she starts accelerating.
When Mr. Smith kicks Mrs. Smith during the fight in their home, the head of a crew member can be seen on the lower right side of the screen.
After Mr. and Mrs. Smith kidnap Benjamin from jail, John appears to have trouble closing the van doors. He suddenly moves into the frame, and a crew member can be seen on the left side of the screen.
When Mrs. Smith is in the desert hut waiting to kill the target, a crew member with a headset on can be seen in the corner of the hut ducking beneath her.
Bogotá is portrayed as a warm/hot city while in reality its located over the Andean cordilleras and has an average temperature of mid 60s all year long and has an altitude of 8530ft.
Towards the end of the movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith are chased around at high speeds along highways in the greater New York City area. As they zip along one freeway, however, a sign appears on the side of the road. It reads: "Los Angeles City Limits".
In the movie, Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, is shown as a small town, when in reality Bogotá is one of the biggest and most populated cities in Latin America.
Towards the end of the movie Jane says twice that she has a boat waiting on standby in La Paz, Bolivia, as her way of escape. However, Bolivia is, in fact, a landlocked country, and La Paz is a city located almost 4,000 meters above the sea level deep in the Andes mountains, making it the highest capital city in the world.
Jane is reading a newspaper named "Prensa Colombiana", a weekly publication issued in Los Angeles by members of the Colombian community, but pretty much impossible to find anywhere in Colombia. These scenes are supposed to take place in Bogotá, where a large variety of full-sized daily newspapers are published by several editorial houses.
Mr. Smith says to Benjamin, "Why do both our bosses want you dead?....", then he says, "You on this?", and right at that moment above his head (upper right corner) a little boom mic appears and disappears.
After the hits of "Lucky" at the poker game, and the arms dealer killed in the hotel, Mr. & Mrs. Smith go to a neighborhood party. When they get home they are shown in pajamas, in their bathroom, getting ready for bed. Mrs. Smith starts to brush her teeth and you can see the boom mic wavering in the upper right corner.
In the first hour, in every scene Angelina Jolie (Jane) is at dinner, her top lip is a lot smaller than when she is in the office, where it has almost doubled in size. This is most noticeable when she is wearing the white tank top. This is not due to makeup but to secretive experimental corrective injections Jolie was regularly receiving at the time and had been ever since she had cheiloplasty as a teenager. After she had children, Jolie more often than not let them deflate, as can be collaborated by viewing the difference in size between her appearances in Hackers (1995) and at the Changeling (2008) premiere.
After the house fight, when they are discussing their past exploits, Jane says she had been deafened by a 'percussion grenade'. She should have said "concussion grenade"; percussion is a class of musical instruments including drums.
During dinner, Jane's lips are average, but when action ensues, her lips have nearly doubled in size, with her top lip now being upturned courtesy of Angelina's cosmetic augmentation.
With the unlimited amount of intelligence Jane has access to, she wouldn't need the name and social security number of John's first wife to find out her identity. She could simply up look up John's martial status' history.
When Jane goes to kill the arms dealer, she answers a Jeopardy question on the t.v. Neither Jane nor the contestant on the show say 'who is' before answering.
