The first slate of nominees will be revealed in a special livestream starting at 8:15 a.m. Et, while 10 additional categories will be announced live on CBS Mornings starting at 8:30 a.m. Et. Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut will present the nominees, and the full list of nominees be made available after on the Golden Globes’ website.

On Monday morning, Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut are announcing the nominees for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards. The announcement is being carried live from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

The 82nd Golden Globes will air on CBS (and stream on Paramount+) on Sunday, January 5, beginning at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt. The show will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.

This year’s awards mark the second Globes since the Hollywood Foreign Press Associations was disbanded amid accusations of discrimination and improper behavior within the organization. In 2023, Penske Media Eldridge acquired all rights to the Golden Globes from the HFPA and the ceremony found a new home on CBS. Studios and celebrities have appeared to embrace the new version of the Globes, in which voting is done by more than 300 journalists and critics, most of them based outside the United States, instead of the fewer than 100 L.A.

Nominees for the 2025 Golden Globes will be announced Monday morning, with Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project) and Morris Chestnut (CBS’ upcoming Watson) on hand to reveal the TV shows and films earning nods.

The nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes will be unveiled live at a press conference at the Beverly Hilton on Monday morning.

Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut are set to reveal the nominees across 27 categories, starting at 5:15 a.m. Pt, with the announcement streamed live on CBS News’ website, YouTube channel and mobile app. Additionally, 10 exclusive categories will be revealed on CBS Mornings starting at 530 a.m. Pt.

Kaling, known for her work on shows like The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever and The Office, currently serves as a writer and executive producer for the Max series The Sex Lives of College Girls, which she co-created. She’s also writing and executive producing the upcoming Netflix comedy series Running Point, starring Kate Hudson, set for release in 2025.

Chestnut is the star of CBS’ upcoming medical drama series Watson, set in the world of Sherlock Holmes with Chestnut playing Dr.

The 32-year-old actor, best known for playing Dr. Nico Kim on the ABC TV show Grey’s Anatomy and now John Na on Mr. Plankton, slow launched a new relationship on Instagram.

Mark Eydelshteyn, the Russian actor who broke out in this year’s “Anora,” has been cast in the second season of Amazon MGM Studios series (on Prime Video) “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” an individual with knowledge told IndieWire.

It’s been unclear whether Season 1 stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine would return for the second season, and the first season ends on an ambiguous cliffhanger regarding their fate. But Variety reported in May that it was likely the show would find another new John and Jane pair.

The Season 2 female lead has not been set just yet. Deadline noted that rumors were circulating around Billie Eilish taking the role, but that touring responsibilities have ended that possibility.

Eydelshteyn joins the Prime Video series as Mr. Smith. But there were notably many Misters Smith in the first season because of the mysterious spy agency’s secretive ways, meaning only time will tell if he is indeed taking over the titular role.

Additionally, co-creators Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane are set to return as executive producers. However, there’s still no word on whether Glover or fellow Season 1 lead Maya Erskine will be reprising their characters after the season finale cliffhanger.

When the cast of James Gunn's Superman reboot (then titled Superman: Legacy) began to expand with the addition of several DC Comics heroes such as Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific and Green Lantern Guy Gardner, there was some concern that David Corenswet's Man of Steel might be a little overshadowed in his own movie.

While the first Dcu big-screen feature will likely lay the groundwork for a Justice League (or Justice Society) team-up down the line, Gunn has now assured fans that Superman is "not an ensemble story," and the focus will remain on the trio of main characters.

“At the middle of everything is Clark, Lois and Lex," said the filmmaker during an Instagram Live interview. "It’s about these three characters.”

Netflix’s Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez has become one of a only a handful of predominantly non-English-language films ever to make the top 10 films list released by the American Film Institute annually since 2001 as part of the AFI Awards. It follows 2004’s Spanish-language Maria Full of Grace and 2007’s French-language The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

AFI’s eligibility rules declare, “Stories need not be presented in the English language if incontrovertibly American,” meaning that they include “significant creative and/or production elements from the United States,” which, in this case, presumably means American-born actresses Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez.

Partially non-English titles that have made the list in years past include 2006’s Letters from Iwo Jima, 2019’s The Farewell, 2020’s Minari and 2023’s Past Lives. Fully non-English titles have occasionally been given special awards, as was the case for 2011’s The Artist, 2018’s Roma and 2019’s Parasite.

South Korean actor Park Min-Jae has sadly passed away at the age of 32. The actor was traveling in China when he suddenly died on Friday, November 29th, 2024. His rep later confirmed the tragic news.

Min-Jae was a famous face in the K-Drama world. He is known for appearing in shows like Little Women, The Korean War, and Bo-ra! Deborah, Tomorrow, Snap And Spark, and Mr Lee.

Park Min-Jae’s Cause of Death

Park Min-Jae died of a sudden cardiac arrest on November 29th, 2024. He was not facing any major health issues before his demise and was on a visit to China when the tragedy occurred. Min-Jae’s agency, Big Title, announced his death with a statement on December 2nd:

Deadpool & Wolverine was one of the biggest movies of the year, second only to Inside Out 2 at the box office. However, we know that box office numbers aren’t everything when it comes to a movie’s overall quality.

The third Deadpool movie pleased many fans (though not all critics), as it provided closure for some of Marvel’s legacy characters like Snipes’ Blade and Garner’s Elektra. It also set up exciting possibilities for mutants in the MCU.

The movie ends with Deadpool and Wolverine returning to Deadpool’s reality after saving it from Tva’s Mr. Paradox and the Time Ripper machine. Wolverine gets a chance to save reality and “redeem himself,” while Deadpool hopes to impress Vanessa and maybe even convince the Avengers to let him join their team.

Before this, fans were unsure if Deadpool and Wolverine would survive, as they risked their lives to destroy the Time Ripper.

When it comes to TV relationships, the messier they are, the more we love them.

TV’s red flags are things we would (hopefully!) never accept in a real-life relationship but can’t get enough of in fiction.

My first thought while watching Mr. Plankton was, why is this show under the dark comedy label when it’s merely a comedy with dark themes and undertones? I don’t think this is necessarily satire; it’s simply dry humor but with a touch of slapstick. The yelling and screaming are the norm for any K-drama comedy fan, but for someone who is new to this stuff, they might be left wanting something different. And in all honesty, in a decade of watching K-dramas, I’ve got to admit, I’ve come to expect much more from these shows as well. Look, this is not to say that Mr. Plankton is terrible because it doesn’t live up to some random internet journalist’s high standard for dark comedy, but it does fall a little bit flat for the stakes at hand, and I’ll tell you why.
