Sampaguita Pictures was nearing bankruptcy in 1976 when Pablo S. Gomez wrote this story. The movie became a blockbuster and helped revived the outfit and launched the career of then upcoming starlet Alma Moreno. The movie also contributed to the popularity of the bomba (sexy) films in the Philippines.
