Chilling Truth About ‘Law & Order’ Star Mariska Hargitay’s Near Fatal Car Accident Will Make Your Insides Squirm
Image
Mariska Hargitay found worldwide fame and acclaim for her role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Though not in the public eye for much, she had a pretty rough life behind the scenes.

However, at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Hargitay decided to throw off the curtains and reveal what her life had been like for quite a while. Mariska Hargitay revealed it all in her documentary, My Mom Jayne, from divulging the truth about her birth father to talking about what it was like growing up without a mother.

Mariska Hargitay’s mother died in a car crash when she was 3

Before the terrifying details of the accident were revealed, Mariska Hargitay talked about her documentary, My Mom Jayne. The film detailed the life of her mother, Jayne Mansfield.

As a Young Sheldon Fan, I Refuse to Let Chuck Lorre Abandon One Side Character Who Definitely Needs a Spinoff
Image
As a Young Sheldon fan, there’s one thing that continues to bother me: Connie ‘Meemaw’ Tucker deserves better. I know she’s not everyone’s favorite. She’s got flaws, sure, but she loves her family fiercely, and she’s one of the only people who really ‘gets’ Sheldon.

Every time she’s on screen, she brings something different, humor, heart, even a little chaos. I honestly think Meemaw is one of the most underrated characters in the whole Big Bang Theory universe, and I’d love nothing more than to see her front and center in her own spinoff.

Why Young Sheldon’s Meemaw should be the next to lead her own spin-off?

The Big Bang Theory spin-off, Young Sheldon, has grown into a franchise of its own, especially with the new series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. But long before that became a reality, many fans were hoping to see other characters,...

Mila Kunis Faced This Series’ Awkward Sabotage Before She Became Jackie
Image
Before she stole hearts as Jackie Burkhart on That ’70s Show, Mila Kunis had a rough brush with early TV fame, and mind you, it wasn’t pretty. She apparently landed a role in a short-lived series that seemed promising on paper but crashed hard behind the scenes.

Kunis faced some sneaky sabotage that could’ve easily crushed a young actor’s confidence. However, instead of folding, she powered through, and the rest, as we know, is iconic sitcom history. Here’s how that weird detour nearly threw off her rise.

Mila Kunis froze in her 90210 audition, and that flop led straight to That ’70s Show Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher in That ’70s Show | Credits: Fox

Mila Kunis had a totally awkward crash course in Hollywood rejection before That ‘70s Show, and it came courtesy of Beverly Hills, 90210.

Here’s what happened: Kunis got the callback. She showed up.

Is Lala Dead on ‘NCIS: Origins’? Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino & Kyle Schmid Weigh In
Image
The NCIS prequel may have just killed off one of the members of the first team that Gibbs (Austin Stowell) worked with upon joining Nis. The NCIS: Origins Season 1 finale ended with a shocking twist: After Lala (Mariel Molino) went to great lengths to keep Gibbs from facing consequences for killing the man who murdered his wife and daughter due to her friend Macy’s (Claire Berger) investigation, she got into a significant car accident on the way to tell him he was off the hook. Her car flipped, and she wasn’t looking good the last time we saw her. Furthermore, Gibbs’ voiceover (Mark Harmon) strongly suggested that Lala dies. TV Insider caught up with Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino, and Kyle Schmid (Mike Franks) at CBS’s red carpet celebrating its Fall 2025 schedule recently. Read on for their thoughts on Lala’s fate and more. Is there a young...

The Superhero Actor Who Auditioned To Play Young Gibbs On NCIS: Origins
Image
Mark Harmon is arguably the face most associated with "NCIS." After all, the franchise veteran portrayed the rule-setting Leroy Jethro Gibbs for 19 seasons before stepping away from the hit procedural, much to the dismay of long-time fans of the show. While other actors were in contention for the role of Gibbs on "NCIS" before Harmon was offered the part, it's impossible to imagine anyone else filling his boots.

Similarly, Austin Stowell shines as a younger version of Gibbs on "NCIS: Origins," a prequel series that focuses on the agent during his younger days. Stowell displays all of the stoic abilities we associate with the character while also tapping into his emotional vulnerabilities (as the series takes place in the wake of Gibbs' family getting killed). It's a great performance, but did you know that "Arrow" star Stephen Amell tried to land the part as well?

During an interview with the...

What Happened To The Cast Of Just Shoot Me?
Image
Even though it aired for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003, "Just Shoot Me!" isn't as appreciated as it should be. While it's rarely considered to be one of the best sitcoms of all time, "Just Shoot Me!" was a strong part of NBC's late-'90s sitcom lineup, following the lives of employees at a fashion magazine, namely the outspoken Maya (Laura San Giacomo) and her boss and father, Jack (George Segal).

The show's supporting cast also includes lots of great comedians, as well as a slew of guest stars like Joe Rogan, Jessica Walter, and Mark Hamill. It's even produced one of the greatest sitcom episodes of the past 30 years with "Slow Donnie," a season 3 episode featuring David Cross pre-"Arrested Development."

Whether you agree "Just Shoot Me!" is an underrated sitcom that you should check out or not, its cast has gone on to do quite a lot since the show ended.

Broadcast Schedule’s New Paradigm: How 8 Pm Became “The Best Time Period On TV For Live Viewing” As 10 Pm Hangs In (For Now)
Image
For decades, TV schedulers were trained to look for self-starters to open the nights at 8 Pm without having to rely on a lead-in. It was considered a challenging assignment that only the strongest shows could fulfill. Over the years, hits like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Survivor and Dancing with the Stars have held the anchor position, tasked with generating momentum for the rest of the lineup.

Meanwhile, 10 Pm was hailed as the marquee drama slot, with such iconic series as ER, Law & Order (the original), The Practice, NYPD Blue and, more recently, Blue Bloods, calling the hour home.

Things have changed over the past few years as linear ratings have eroded amid a shift in viewing habits.

As the bulk of entertainment programming consumption has shifted to streaming, live viewing for the fare local stations carry in the Prime Access 7-8 Pm hour leading to networks’ primetime...

‘Duster’ Star Josh Holloway Says He Was Offered ‘A Lot of Cliché Network Things’ After ‘Lost’
Image
Josh Holloway, one of the breakout stars of “Lost,” nearly gave up acting before landing his career-defining role as con man Sawyer. Since the show wrapped up in 2010, he has headlined other series and guest-starred on “Yellowstone,” but the actor told TheWrap he had nearly given up hope of finding a role as meaty as Sawyer … until “Lost” executive producer J.J. Abrams called him and pitched him “Duster,” the new Max series in which he plays a getaway driver in 1970s Phoenix.

The actor talked to TheWrap about how the new series fits him “like an old pair of jeans,” how he’s changed his approach to acting over the years and that time “The Rockford Files” star James Garner told him, “I think you got a shot in this business, kid.”

NCIS Character No One Remembers Is Played by Young Sheldon’s Mary Cooper Star Zoe Perry

The Big Bang Theory spin-off, Young Sheldon, has brought several talented actors into the spotlight, from lead star Iain Armitage to Zoe Perry, who portrayed Mary Cooper, Sheldon’s mother, throughout the CBS series. Perry has since reprised the role in the new spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

However, while she has become well-known for her role as Mary Cooper, her journey in acting began long before Young Sheldon. One key milestone in her early career was a brief role in the long-running CBS procedural NCIS.

Zoe Perry played a dirty cop in NCIS Season 13

Season 13 of NCIS features Zoe Perry in a brief but memorable role as Kristen Fields, a police officer in Harpers Ferry who harbors some hidden secrets that unravel as the episode progresses.

Carissa’s Corner: From Boom to Bleak — What the Hell Happened to Fall TV?
Image
There was a time when Fall TV meant something: new seasons, new shows, and a reason to count down to premiere week.

In 2015, broadcast networks came in hot. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and The CW unleashed a scripted wave of dramas, comedies, genre swings, and potential watercooler hits.

You didn’t need five streaming subscriptions and an Excel sheet to keep up. You just needed your TV, a DVR (if you were fancy), and a little time to sink into the stories being told.

(Carissa’s Corner)

Fast forward to 2025, and it’s bleak. Scripted programming hasn’t just declined. It’s been gutted.

And if you’re wondering where the baton got dropped… well, the answer’s messier than you think.

ABC Boss Explains How Bobby's Death Inspired 9-1-1: Nashville Spinoff
Image
9-1-1 viewers were terribly shocked in April when beloved lead character Bobby Nash (played by actor Peter Krause) was suddenly killed off. Some fans were impressed, some were furious -- but everyone could agree that the scene had gotten people talking. Now the president of ABC is revealing that the buzz from Bobby's death helped set the tone for upcoming spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville.

Craig Erwich spoke to Deadline about the dramatic death and why it had to happen. “As a viewer, it was incredibly emotional.[Bobby]’s a beloved character, and there was so much grist for the mill for [actor] Angela Bassett, who I thought gave such an incredible performance in both the episode where he died and the funeral,” Erwich said.

Bobby's death has hung over the 9-1-1 characters for multiple episodes. The event happened in "Lab Rats," when the team became trapped in a lab researching a terrible virus.

“I like players, but I don’t like ’em like that”: Real Reason NCIS Star Mark Harmon Hates Fantasy Football
Image
Mark Harmon is widely known for his role as the rigid and no-nonsense Leroy Gibbs from NCIS. And it’s safe to say that, even off-screen, the actor is not much different from his character. However, he left many surprised when she said that he’s not interested in watching something that is quite literally followed by millions worldwide.

That’s right, in an interview, the actor detailed that when it comes to fantasy football, he wants absolutely nothing to do with it. While most of Hollywood gets caught up in player stats and league rivalries, Harmon keeps it real – literally. Let’s dive deeper to understand why he made these comments.

“My wife believed we all should have a code to live by”: NCIS Gave Mark Harmon’s Gibbs 12 Ironclad Rules to Fight Crime – How Many Do You Know?

It has been five years since Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs parted ways with NCIS after a whopping 19-year-long tenure in the procedural drama, which was once voted one of the biggest shows in network television. But despite his departure, Gibbs’ legacy continues to live on through his code of conduct, which has become the mantra to abide by among NCIS members.

Although a sizeable portion of his rules remain shrouded in mystery, during a voice-over for NCIS‘ prequel series, Harmon unveiled 12 of them, which he held onto during his stay on the team.

Surprise! NCIS: Tony and Ziva will reunite the characters earlier than expected
Image
The NCIS: Tony & Ziva first-look trailer made me laugh like a little kid. As a surprise, Paramount+ announced the spinoff would be coming in August 2025 instead of later in the fall. During the May 8, 2025 Paramount Global Earnings Call, Paramount touched base on their shows, mentioning that Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 premiered earlier that day, NCIS: Tony & Ziva had been moved up to an August release, and four of Taylor Sheridan's shows filled the rest of the year's schedule.

Tony Dinozzo is one of my favorite characters. Although I loved Kate Todd and was devastated by her departure, it allowed CBS to cast a hardcore female agent who would test Tony like Kate did for two seasons. Ziva's addition in season 3 was the perfect move for the franchise. But no one knew they'd become an NCIS on-and-off-again love story to last decades.

Broadcast TV Is Wrapping Up. Here Are the Streaming Shows Worth Your Time!
Image
Broadcast television will soon close for the 2024-2025 season, and we’ll be without many of our favorite shows for the summer.

Gone are the days of summer fare you could sink your teeth into on a Tuesday night in the summer, with networks mostly opting for reality television shows like Big Brother and Bachelor in Paradise instead, which are solid choices for those who are into that kind of thing but not for everyone.

What if you want a solid drama to watch over the summer? Something you’ve never gotten a chance to check out because you’ve been inundated with so much television during the rest of the year.

(Warrick Page/Max )

There is so much television currently on television that some will argue there is too much.

And while broadcast television remains king for most, there are many gems on streaming platforms that are worthy of attention.

The Upfronts: How TV’s Big Week Evolved From Chess Match to WWE Free For All
Image
The TV upfronts have a long and colorful history, rooted in grainy images of network executives strategically moving shows around an oversized scheduling board, trying to parry moves by other programmers in the equivalent of a high-stakes chess match.

Today, the strategy is less a cerebral cat-and-mouse game of positioning those pieces than a WWE-style free for all, where programmers try to assemble cohesive lineups but can’t begin to plan how to counter competition that’s coming at them on a multitude of fronts.

Billions of dollars in advance commitments still hang in the balance, with networks and now streaming services seeking to impress media buyers and garner their share of the advertising pie. While sellers still dress to impress, from flying in talent to hosting parties, the Trump economy has cast a shroud over this year’s festivities, stoking fears companies will cut back on spending amid looming recession anxiety.

'It Can't Not Have Consequences': NCIS Star Promises Revenge in Season 23

NCISstar Gary Cole promises "revenge" to come in the hit series' twenty-third season.

Speaking to TVLine, Cole was asked about how his character, NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker, can be expected to react to the murder of his father Roman when the series returns for Season 23. "He's pissed. He's really pissed," Cole responded. "I’m not sure how that’s going to play out, but I know it’s going to have something to do with revenge — whether accurate [by targeting crime boss Carla Marino] or misplaced…. [But] it can’t not have any consequences to him mentally."

Cole went on to discuss the scene in which Parker discovers his father, portrayed by Francis X. McCarthy, shot to death, seemingly by Parker's arch-nemesis and Kansas City mob boss Carla Marino. Cole described being "intimated" by the scene, explaining that "normally you have a scene where just one thing happens... in the same moment, he comes to a full realization.

Did Tracker Just Reveal Who Killed Colter’s Dad? Series Boss Says ‘There’s Much More to That Story to Unpack’ as He Lays Out Season 3 Plans
Image
In the Tracker Season 2 finale, Colter Shaw confronts Otto Waldron (played by Seal Team’s Alex Fernandez), a mysterious lineman who reveals that, yes, he pushed Ashton Shaw off that cliff more than 20 years ago. But that’s only the beginning of this story.

Otto then tells Colter that his mother Mary (recurring guest star Wendy Crewson) asked for his help that night. Help with what, exactly, remains a question mark at the end of the hour. Did she instruct Otto to kill her husband? Or did the situation escalate beyond anyone’s expectations?

The NCIS Character Glen Powell Played Before His Rise To Fame
Image
At this point, Glen Powell feels like he's been famous forever thanks to a series of high-profile projects (that also happened to be major financial successes), but this native Texan only broke into the mainstream towards the end of the 2010s. So what was he doing before that? As a young actor trying to make it big in Hollywood, Powell showed up in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" alongside Selena Gomez, in a tiny, blink-and-you'll-miss-it role in "The Dark Knight Rises" — which consists entirely of Tom Hardy's supervillain Bane slamming a young Powell's head into a computer keyboard — and, as it turns out, he also appeared on "NCIS."

In the procedural's 10th season, Powell plays Marine Corps Sergeant Evan Westcott in the two-part episode "Shell Shock," whose older brother, Captain Joe Westcott (Brad Beyer), watched as his friend was attacked (and may or may not have been personally involved...

Special Agent Alden Parker will be dead set on revenge when NCIS Season 23 rolls around this fall, says series star Gary Cole.

Speaking with TVLine West Coast Bureau Chief Dave Nemetz at Wednesday’s CBS Fest ’25, celebrating the release of the network’s programming schedule for the 2025-26 TV season, Cole pondered how Parker will respond to his father Roman’s murder at the hands of, it sure seems, Kansas City crime boss Carla Marino (played by guest star Rebecca De Mornay).

Chuck Lorre’s One “boneheadedly simple” ‘Two and a Half Men’ Decision That Left a Lasting Impact on Fans
Image
When Two and a Half Men came out, it didn’t take long to become a major favorite among fans for all its components that made it stand out from the rest. Curated by the mastermind Chuck Lorre, it had the most wonderful cast and turned out to be a sitcom loved and remembered by fans and viewers even years after concluding its run and getting off the air.

From the outstanding casting choices made by the people behind the lens to the unparalleled storylines devised, everything was pretty much perfect on that TV show. But, perhaps, the one thing that made the series stick out and left a lasting impact on fans was none other than the epic theme song, which was the result of a ‘boneheadedly simple’ decision from Lorre.

Chuck Lorre wanted a ‘boneheadedly simple’ theme song for Two and a Half Men Two and a Half Men.

Image
This article contains Major Spoilers for NCIS: Origins Season 1, Episode 18, "Cecilia".

NCIS: Origins left Lala's fate up in the air after Season 1's shocking finale; fans hope for the best, but the show could take a very dark turn. Mariel Molino weighed in on what's next for her character, asserting that no one, even mainstays, is safe in the NCIS franchise.

NCIS: Origins wrapped up an eventful Season 1 with a bang, paving the way for multiple storylines. Lala's arc is uncertain after the cliffhanger finale, however; the episode's closing moments saw her unconscious, seriously injured following a car crash. Season 2 would reveal if she survived, and it's easy to assume that because she's key to the show's storyline. Speaking with TVLine, actor Mariel Molino said fans shouldn't be complacent. Anything can happen in the NCIS franchise.

15 Best TV Shows Like The Rookie
Image
Police procedurals are a dime a dozen on primetime television. It's an inherently cinematic profession with chases and gun fights that get viewers invested from week to week. As such, it's a pleasant surprise when one turns out to be actually entertaining, which is a far easier task when you have the ever-charismatic Nathan Fillion at the helm.

"The Rookie" proves how you can teach an old dog new tricks, as John Nolan (Fillion) moves from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles to join the city's police force despite being 45 years old. He's much older than the much younger rookies on the squad, but over the course of the show's run, he shows how a unique perspective can help with solving cases.

The show mixes action with personal drama well, to the point where the show even sparked the spinoff "The Rookie: Feds for a while, until ABC cancelled it after just one season.

NCIS Dropping a 22-Season Tradition To “Keep the heat going” in S23
Image
Since the advent of streaming, prestige shows, which often lean toward being an elongated movie, whose story is told over multiple seasons of TV, have become the norm. With more and more shows leaving behind the age-old formula of 20-episode seasons, the future of procedural dramas, which were the heavy hitters in the 2000s and early 2010s, remains uncertain.

Although shows like NCIS are here to stay, which was renewed for its 23rd season last month, the CBS drama will be adapting to the changing entertainment landscape by incorporating several shifts.

NCIS might drop a years-long tradition to amp up the stakes NCIS | Credit: CBS

For years, NCIS has been embracing its formulaic structure, which has led to it becoming a major comfort watch for viewers. Moreover, the showrunners would incorporate a time jump between seasons to make room for fresh storylines for the subsequent one. While some overarching storylines...

Most Sister Wives Have Bailed on Kody Brown, and TLC Should Follow Suit
Image
Sister Wives Season 19 hits an emotional part of the Brown family’s story.

The back half of the TLC hit’s season deals with Garrison’s death by suicide, and offers a look at how each of the wives and Kody Brown are coping with their grief.

However, viewers are more concerned with the women and their actions than anything Kody says or does.

(TLC/Screenshot)

There aren’t many Kody fans left, as most watch for Meri, Janelle, and Christine as they move on with their lives without him. Robyn is the only one left, making Kody a monogamist instead of the polygamist he was when Sister Wives began.

Kody has said and done some pretty terrible things, and they don’t go unnoticed. His treatment of Meri since Robyn came along has been frequently discussed.

Chicago Fire’s New Villain? Budget Cuts Dressed as ‘The Padlock’
Image
It’s always fun to hear that your favorite show has been renewed, but for Chicago Fire fans, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, we’re getting another season.

But on the other hand, we’re losing at least two series regulars.

(NBC/Screenshot)

That’s one way to smother all the excitement and make us wonder whether the show can recalibrate.

It has survived many cast changes in the past, but audiences are becoming more fickle due to the many options available outside of broadcast TV.

(Peter Gordon/NBC)

As a network, NBC needs shows to be fiscally responsible, so the cast changes aren’t too surprising.

"It's Not That We Don't Have Ideas": How Will 'NCIS' Celebrate Their 500th Episode?
Image
Season 23 of the world's number one franchise features a massive milestone. NCIS will celebrate 500 episodes aired sometime in the upcoming season. The show and the wider NCIS-verse have celebrated various milestones throughout the years, including 100, 200, 250 episodes, and even 1000 overall episodes in the NCIS universe. Showrunner Steven D. Binder is already thinking of ways to mark this major achievement. "It’s not that we don’t have ideas,” he told TV Line when discussing the challenge of doing something they have done before, but differently. "It’s just, which one’s worthy of this [milestone]?” he added. Binder revisited some of the things they had done before, saying:

"The only early thought is the same thought that we had for 250, 300, 400, 1,000th, which is to do something really special and worthy of that number, and what does that look like? At various times, it’s been about going back to the pilot.

The ‘Castle’ Character No One Remembers Is Played By Star Trek’s Michael Dorn
Image
Michael Dorn’s run in showbiz has been defined by his portrayal of Worf in Star Trek, and he is among the few set of actors who appeared in all seven seasons of the revered The Next Generation. While it’s easy to see why most fans would recognize Dorn from his glory days in the influential sci-fi IP, the Deep Space Nine star’s career extends far beyond his Star Trek credentials.

Although the actor is mostly notable for his voice work in several animated outings, including DC’s Gargoyles, interestingly, most people often miss out on his character in ABC’s Castle.
