MTV movie awards have always been the most entertaining show imaginable(probably because in 90% they actually give their awards to the nominees who deserve them the most), especially if you love movies as much as I do, so they always represented the award highlight of the year. But in the past 2 or so years they have rapidly been losing on that witty humor and have become less funny. Or is it just me. And they aren't as spectacular as they used to be either. Some of the best moments from this years show include Gollum's acceptance speech (a moment that will be remembered for a long time, and rightfully so), the sketch between Hilary Duff and that other incredibly attractive girl and their announcement of Tatu, Tatu's performance(and I don't mean their song(s)), Pink's performance(this time the actual song)some of the animated inserts before the nominees are shown and some other moment I can't remember right now.

But on the other side, Harrison Ford looked like he drank a whole vodka and his and Josh Hartnett's presentation of the award was painfully unfunny.

This years show was OK, but they really have to work on bringing the glamour back. But they Blew it with this year's hosts, especially not giving Seann William Scott the opportunity to show his talents and there wasn't any chemistry between him and Justin at all. 7/10
  • To greatly disagree with the previous comments about this excellent show, I thought it was excellant, it was well rehearsed, the opening sequence involving a spoof of the new matrix film would be funny only if you have seen the film, otherwise it would only give you a chuckle, Justin Timberlake was surprisingly funny, especially with the antics of Sean William Scott, the Tatu performance was a nice surprise and the win of Samara from The Ring for best villian ended up being one of the most satisfying speechs of all time, a classic epic, hip awards show, and will definately be one of the most valuable parts of the MTV archives.

9 out of 10 (the only problem was even though 50 cent performance was okay it was way to hyped and the actors were obviously rehearsed)

I usually check out the MTV movie awards to watch a witty, entertaining show that delivers a unique award show (Chewbacca winning a life-time achievement award as example). So this year was no different. While I'm not a fan of Justin Timberlake, Seann William Scott has always been funny-albiet stupid-to me. I've laughed at Stiffler in both American Pie movies, and even enjoyed him in Dude Where's My Car?. But the MTV movie awards were simply horrible. Nothing was coherrent, humorous, or entertaining. Justin Timberlake should stick to singing and dancing; he sure as hell can't act.

I'm curious as to who the writers were for this show. Last year's performance by Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar was extremly funny (The Lord of the Rings parody alone was worth watching the entire show), but this year was completly different. Did anyone understand Timberlake's comments regarding Luke Wilson and Kate Hudson ("They're staring in a movie together, but have never met! Here they are...") Where was the joke? Kate and Luke just went into their lame dialogue, never making a reference to the "joke" by Timberlake. And Seann was completly wasted as a talent, not even causing me to smile, yet alone laugh. And what was the point of Harrison Ford's one-liners? Did they make ANY sense to anyone? Perhaps the MTV writers figured the young viewers would only know the aging Ford as Han Solo, Indiania Jones, or the President from Air Force One. I'm baffled. And would someone tell me the deal with Adrian Brody? How old is this guy and how old does he THINK he is? The guy looks 30, trying to act 19 again....give it up, show some class (like in your best actor academy award speech) and act your age!

I give this show 1 star out of 4, simply because of the speech by Gollam for Best Visual Performance. This was very creative, extremely well done, and caused the only genuine laugh of the entire evening.

This was the worst MTV Movie Awards EVER!!! I barely laughed, none of the presenters were funny, the hosts really sucked, and the parodies weren't so great either. Why can't we go back to the good olden days when the show was a riot?
  • I only watched this show, because I knew that Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,(my favourite movie), was up for many awards! And won most of them i'd like to say!

But I found it extremely funny!

My favourite speech was Gollums! I mean, how can you top that! It was soooooooooooooooo funny!!!!!

My second favourite was Yodas! 'Long live your Queen...Lafiah!'

Even though I haven't seen the movie, I thought the Matrix spoof was superb! A great way to start the show!

I think Justin and Sean where great presenters, and i'd like to see them do another award show together! I LOVED their beat-box and right at the begginning where Sean comes out with his Super Hero Outfit on!

    I can't belive people didn't like this!

    My rating: 9/10.
