Even though it aired for seven seasons between 1997 and 2003, "Just Shoot Me!" isn't as appreciated as it should be. While it's rarely considered to be one of the best sitcoms of all time, "Just Shoot Me!" was a strong part of NBC's late-'90s sitcom lineup, following the lives of employees at a fashion magazine, namely the outspoken Maya (Laura San Giacomo) and her boss and father, Jack (George Segal).

The show's supporting cast also includes lots of great comedians, as well as a slew of guest stars like Joe Rogan, Jessica Walter, and Mark Hamill. It's even produced one of the greatest sitcom episodes of the past 30 years with "Slow Donnie," a season 3 episode featuring David Cross pre-"Arrested Development."

Netflix has officially greenlit a brand-new comedy series co-created by Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy and Bottomsbreakout Rachel Sennott, with Levy set to star alongside Ghosts and The Four Seasons actress Taylor Ortega and Emmy-winning legend Laurie Metcalf. The untitled project will consist of eight episodes and is expected to begin production later this year. What a mightily impressive line-up that is, goodness gracious.

The announcement was made during Netflix’s upfront presentation in New York by chief content officer Bela Bajaria, who also confirmed new seasons for The Diplomat, Bridgerton, and Love on the Spectrum.

According to the official logline from Netflix, the comedy will follow “two deeply incapable siblings (Levy and Ortega) who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime.” Yes, you read that right. Think Arrested Development meets Fargo — but with more guilt and better sweaters. And presumably no banana stand, but we can't say that for sure.

A basketball-themed Netflix comedy starring Kate Hudson might seem like a surefire recipe for a hit, but as showrunner David Stassen told IndieWire, you really just never know.

“We felt like we had a great cast, and we had the benefit of a lot of time with the show before going to production, because of a delay in the room starting and then the writers’ strike, I like to say the show just got to bake a little longer,” he told IndieWire. “We really knew who our characters were, and we knew the family and the dynamics. We loved the world and the family, and we loved our cast, but you just don’t know how something’s going to be received.

Arrested Development, with its enviable 8.6 rating on IMDb, became one of the most talked-about TV shows of the last two decades, which went on to inspire multiple single-camera comedy series. While its last season might have aired more than six years ago in 2019, the show’s relatability and timelessness still remain unmatched!

Thus, with President Donald Trump back in the White House following a sweeping victory at the 2024 election, the fifth season of Arrested Development feels closer to home. Thanks to its lengthy tenure, "Little House on the Prairie" featured an impressive cast of characters for a show that takes place in a small frontier settlement. Famous names like "Arrested Development" and "Ozark" star Jason Bateman (whose first screen acting role was the adopted late-game Ingalls kid, James) visited the titular Plum Creek farm and its neighboring small town of Walnut Grove during the show's lifetime. Warner Bros. Television Group has struck a first-look TV deal with writer/director/producer Paul Feig and his producing partner Laura Fischer.

The agreement will see Feigco Entertainment develop and create original programming across all genres, including live-action scripted, unscripted and animation for all platforms, including HBO, Max, external streaming services and the broadcast networks. The multi-year pact marks Feig’s first with the studio. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

While he has branched into features, most recently directing and producing Another Simple Favor, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, for Amazon, Feig’s roots are in television where his career was launched by the 1999 cult favorite Freaks & Geaks, which he created.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker recently told People magazine that he would “love to do some acting” again but that “it’s hard to make time for.”

“I happen to play myself in an upcoming episode of The Studio, and I had a lot of fun doing that,” he noted.

No Bad Lies debuts April 9 and will include on-course conversations and in-studio interviews with professional golfers, athletes, entertainers and influencers. Cocreated by Stassen, Elaine Ko, Mindy Kaling, and Ike Barinholtz, Running Point stars Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, a former party girl who becomes the president of the Los Angeles Waves basketball team.
