Harmless fun in a Scottish Village. Great tunes.
Balamory is a close knit village, on an island, with colourful houses and characters. It's safe to leave your door unlocked and people like nothing better than to help each other. Miss Hoolie, the best Nursery Teacher you could wish for, welcomes viewers with a smile and a song. Every lead character has their own signature song about their role in the village. They're very catchy and fun. Friends regularly call in to ask for advice or help. My favourite is Archie the inventor, who lives in the pink castle and enjoys constructing with yogurt pots & other recyclable items. He has a robot assistant called Nobby. Eccentric, proud, a little clumsy, but well meaning, Archie occasionally gets into trouble. However Pc Plum's kind, but firm dealing can soon set him straight. Miss Hoolie and PC Plum have a shy attraction for each other. When not busy searching for lost property or controlling traffic, PC Plum is a keen wildlife watcher and enjoys tea and biscuits. Spencer is a mischievous painter and musician, while Josie Jump is an enthusiastic sports advocate. She also tells great stories with lots of actions. Kind hearted Susie Sweet and practical Penny Pocket, run the village shop and cafe together. Susie is a brilliant cook and Penny loves to organise and add up. The shop is always at the centre of village life.Edie McCredie is the school bus driver and she fixes it herself. She enjoys travelling abroad with her video camera, as well as recording events at home. The characters interact with the viewers on occasion. This series is charming and encourages acceptance and co-operation. Although you'll never get the title song out of your head.
