  • Taking a new step towards the horror genre, PAGANS delivers on so many levels that are usually lacking from most independent/low budget horror films. Well crafted plot points, characters and dialogue are a key element as to why the film works so well.

The movie starts out with the suicide of the lead singer of one of the biggest Glam/Punk Rock bands of the 90's. The opening credits intercut between the suicide and a music video starring the lead singer. This eery opening sequence sets the mood for the rest of the film, which follows the bands reunion exactly one year after their singers demise. Sure enough, once the band reunites and dark secrets of their past are revealed, some evil is killing them off one by one.

The only thing I wish was a little more explicit was the gore factor, although for what its worth, sometimes little is more, and this film certainly builds tension using the later. The movie also uses the generic formula "you have sex you die" which is a good thing in this movie, because this means there are quite a nice amount of T & A shots.

All in all this definantly was a very entertaining film with quirky dialogue, lovable characters, and an ending so crazy - it just might work - and does.
