Sandy : [as Gordon approaches them behind some rocks near the beach] Hold still, Laszlo! Someone's coming!
[to Gordon]
Sandy : You there! Stop where you are - stay on the rocks! Don't step on the sand! It makes the Antlions crazy!
[Laszlo is injured and lying down on a rock surrounded by sand; Sandy is with him on the flat rock]
Sandy : Laszlo, don't move!
[Laszlo's moving attracks the Antlions]
Sandy : No! Help!
[Despite Gordon trying to kill off the attackers, Laszlo still dies]
Sandy : Dear God! Poor Laszlo! The finest mind of his generation, to come to such an end.
[pause]
Sandy : We were heading for the Vortigaunt Camp, hoping to pick up some Bugbait so these damn things would leave us alone. But without Laszlo... what's the point? I know you tried to help. I'll stay with him a while. There's something I have to do. Go ahead. I hope you have better luck than we had.
[as Gordon leaves, he shouts out]
Sandy : Remember to stay off the sand! The Antlions are edgy right now.

BoxCar Joe : [Gordon drops down through a hole in the boxcar roof] Good God! Guess those sirens are for you, huh? Good thing you found us. You're not the first to come through here by a...
Vortigaunt : This is the Freeman. The Combine's reckoning has come.
BoxCar Joe : Look, we're just the lookout for the underground railroad. Main station is right around the corner. They'll get you started on the right foot. Meanwhile, let my vortigaunt friend here give you a jolt to get you going.
[the Vortigaunt sends some electrical charges to Gordon's HEV suit]
BoxCar Joe : Be careful now. We really can't afford to get noticed. Civil Protection catches you down here, it's bad news for the whole railroad.
Vortigaunt : We serve the same mystery.
Overwatch : [in the distant background] Citizen reminder: inaction is conspiracy. Report counter-behavior to a Civil Protection team immediately.

Matt : [having been sleeping in his hideout, Gordon arrives and wakes him up with the noise of entering] Get in here! Hurry! Civil Protection is on to us. We're tearing up the railroad, covering our tracks. Looks like you're gonna be the last one through. Be glad you're not the guy they're looking for. Poor bastard doesn't stand a chance. Sounds like they're calling in every CP unit in City 17. They're flooding areas up ahead with Manhacks. You'd better get going before they sweep through here.
[Manhacks begin to approach from the corridor Gordon must exit through]
Matt : Oh shit! Too late!
[Gordon and Matt proceed to destroy all of the Manhacks]
Matt : That was a close call. Thanks for your help! Look, it isn't safe here. I'll give you some supplies to keep you going, then you really gotta go. Good luck out there!

Odessa Cubbage : [Gordon walks into the basement at New Little Odessa, where Cubbage is giving a lecture to a few rebels on how to use the rocket launcher he is holding] This steerable Rocket Launcher is our best bet for taking down a Gunship.
[noticed Gordon]
Odessa Cubbage : Ah, hello! I'll be right with you! Now, where was I? Ah, yes... Using the laser guide, you can steer your rocket past the Gunship's defenses and prevent it from shooting down your rocket. This will only anger it at first, but if you can survive long enough to make several direct hits, you'll be rewarded with a prize worthy of any mantlepiece. Now, who's going to be the lucky one to carry it into combat?
[turns to Gordon]
Odessa Cubbage : Ah, yes! Gordon Freeman! I couldn't have asked for a finer volunteer!
[Gordon takes the rocket launcher]
Odessa Cubbage : Colonel Odessa Cubbage at your service!
[the alarm goes off]
Odessa Cubbage : Damn! Let me just send a warning to Lighthouse Point, then I'll come right up to lend a hand! Go on! Teach that Gunship a lesson it will never forget!
Odessa Cubbage : [while Gordon and the rebels are busy fighting the Gunship, into a radio] N.L.O. to Lighthouse Point. N.L.O. to Lighthouse Point. Come in. This is Colonel Cubbage. Come in, please.
[repeatedly as long as the fight goes on]
Odessa Cubbage : [after the Gunship has been destroyed, Gordon finds Cubbage still standing at the radio he was attempting to use] Well, that's that. I gather you've disposed of that Gunship, Dr. Freeman. Your reputation, sir, is well deserved. I shall have someone open the gate for you immediately, so that you can drive on. I understand that Dr. Vance is in great need. Use extreme caution when approaching the Bridge. Radio silence from that outpost leads me to believe it has come under Combine control. Still, you're clearly the right man for the job! You'll make it through if anyone can. Farewell! And please tell Dr. Vance that Colonel Cubbage regrets not having been able to rescue him in person!
