  • The movie is one of the best Philippine drama films I had seen; it is a movie that can truly evoke your emotions, especially since it is about family relationships.

The movie begins with a smooth flow and light atmosphere but as it approaches the end, there is a twist that changes the direction of the story; a stark contrast that makes the movie so affecting. There are few characters in the film, but the characters' identities are well-portrayed by very good actors such as Maricel Soriano, Nestor de Villa and most especially, Nida Blanca. Their acting is very convincing that you almost cannot see the film was just "scripted". You will feel the actors' emotions as if they were real, even without exerting too much "effort" trying to absorb the feelings they are trying to portray. Although, the constant and long crying of the child in the some parts of the story might be quite "awkward" to watch, the child was nevertheless good in acting; perhaps it is just not everyday that you hear a child crying in the manner that the child had done in the film.

The best acting I had seen was from Nida Blanca. Her acting and, most especially, facial expressions look very real. Just by looking at her face, you cannot help but feel the happy, gloomy, or uneasy atmosphere even before she does something. It's like she can "kill" a person just by staring at him.

Overall, any drama film about family relationships almost turn out to be very good. But this is one of the few films that cannot be forgotten easily because of the theme, its twist in the story, and the very good acting by several actors & actresses. It is one of the timeless classic drama film masterpieces in Philippine cinema history.

    Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this tearjerker countless times, but when I saw it again recently, I realize it has not diminished its emotional impact. Perhaps because my own dad has now passed away, also somewhat unexpectedly, that this movie tugs the heart deep. Maryo J really delivered here. A family starting so happy, with a daughter new in college, pursuing medicine school and a newly adopted son. Then after the accident, you feel the house that turned empty, with Nida Blanca smelling her husband's clothes, holding on to every bit of happy memories. There are 3 standout scenes for me: first when Shayne ( Maricel Soriano) got angry with her brother and her parents interceded. It was so realistic. Second is the hospital scene when Shayne said she's missing his dad so much and Nida enumerating what love is, and Shayne answering back ( nasa puso, nasa utak). The 3rd scene is when Maricel talks to her deceased dad, promising him she will be strong. This probably won her her first Famas award. Catch this excellent movie,
  • The story and direction of the movie is truly brilliant! This is one of the most HEARTBREAKING STORY i have ever heard and seen.I never thought adopting a child could be such a complicated one. The story is not made to be a HEAVY DRAMA. It has no intention of making you cry and yet, you will find yourself shedding bucket of tears-- even if you can~t identify with the protagonist. The story is simple and unassuming but turns out so be so unusually sad! You should not miss this movie.

Its different, unique, unthinkable and yet you know its so true.

This is one of the best movie of Maricel Soriano and NIDA Blanca. Their acting is prowess has been never displayed this way--EVER! CAST IS Wonderful AND YES, PERFECT! The Original soundtrack is also a killer:) True tear jerker movie, bring tissue please.
  • One of the best movies i've seen. Performances were great! screenplay was flawless... direction was absolutely incredible. Philippines need more films like this.

Nida Blanca and Nestor Devilla were superb, i cant think of anybody else who can play their part.. Maricel Soriano is nothing short but a genuine diamond in playing the role of Shayne. and lastly Jaypee Deguzman, deserves a best supporting actor award.

Supporting cast Raymond Lauchengco, Chanda Romero were perfect.

Saan Darating Ang Umaga is one the most treasured films in the history of Philippine Cinema. The best commercial film so far.

I want to see all available actors included in this movie be reunited in tribute to the great movie and the cast Nida and Nestor.
