All the Stars That Auditioned for 'Mean Girls' Before Iconic Cast Was Finalized
Image
Mean Girls remains one of the most iconic teen movies, and that’s partly down to the all-around perfect casting choices that were made behind the scenes. Can you even imagine what it would have been like if the lineup of talent had been different!?

Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfied and Lacey Chabert grounded the movie as members of The Plastics – teen royalty of North Shore High School.

They were joined by other talented young actors such as Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Franzese and Lizzy Caplan alongside comedy legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

However, Mean Girls almost looked very different. For starters, all three members of The Plastics auditioned for other parts in the movie before they were finally cast. Several other actresses were also in the running for parts, and an A-list actor was considered for Jonathan‘s character Aaron Samuels.

One of the actors who was in...

How Late Producer Jill Messick First Saw The Mega Potential Of ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Through The Eyes Of Her Son
Image
Here’s a wonderful Mother’s Day story as Warner Bros./Legendary’s A Minecraft Movie flies past $900M: The entire movie started with a mother’s love for her son, noticing his passion for the create-your-own-world game.

Around 2011, former Miramax and Lorne Michaels Entertainment executive Jill Messick was in between producing gigs, and like many parents with millennial young children, recognized her 11-year old son Jackson’s obsession with the pixelated brick-building universe.

Jill Messick

Seeing Jackson’s affinity for the game, Messick was promptly moved to cold-call Stockholm, Sweden-based Mojang Studios to inquire about the movie rights. She then cobbled together frequent flyer miles to fly over and pitch the game’s architect and company founder Markus Persson.

At the time, Mojang — being an indie startup that mushroomed into the creator of one...

This Mean Girls Actress Turned Down The Devil Wears Prada 3 Times Before Anne Hathaway Got The Role Of A Lifetime
Image
Hollywood is filled with major surprises – but none of them would be as big as this. Interestingly, before Anne Hathaway made fashion history as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada, another actress almost took the role from her. The actress in question was Rachel McAdams.

While it’s hard to imagine anyone else nervously fetching lattes for Miranda Priestly, it turns out she was offered the role not once but three times before Hathaway. But to everyone’s surprise, McAdams repeatedly turned the role down.

Rachel McAdams turned down Andy Sachs before Anne Hathaway took over

When we think about The Devil Wears Prada, actress Anne Hathaway‘s brilliant acting quickly comes to mind. She played the ambitious Andy Sachs and delivered a performance that helped make the movie a beloved classic. But what many fans may not know is that she wasn’t the studio’s first choice – and not even the second.

Kelsea Ballerini Reacts to Winning No ACM Awards as Lainey Wilson Sweeps the Show
Image
Lainey Wilson won the night at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, taking home four awards out of the six categories she was nominated in, including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. On the other hand, Kelsea Ballerini arrived with three nominations and walked away with no awards. Afterward, The Voice coach took to her Instagram Story to share a meme from Mean Girls that addressed her reaction to the situation. She shared photos of Lacey Chabert in the classic “And none for Gretchen Weiners” scene. Her boyfriend, Chase Stokes, also reacted to the losses by posting a video of Ballerini’s performance from the show with the caption, “Entertainer of the Year. Goodnight.” Ballerini was nominated in the coveted category for the first time but lost to Wilson, who took home the honor for the second year in a row. Ballerini...

The Tina Fey Miniseries Taking Over Netflix Is Perfect For The White Lotus Fans
Image
If you're expecting the fast-paced outright absurdity of "30 Rock" or "Girls5Eva" when you queue up Tina Fey's new Netflix series "The Four Seasons," you might be caught off guard. But while this project is a bit different from a lot of Fey's small-screen work, it's still yet another worthy effort from the multi-talented "Saturday Night Live" veteran. Based on Alan Alda's 1981 movie "The Four Seasons," which was written, directed, and led by Alda alongside Carol Burnett, Rita Moreno, and Len Cariou, this Netflix miniseries of the same name reimagines the story for modern times. Fey, who created the show with her longtime collaborators Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, stars as Kate, who's married to Jack (Will Forte), and every "season," they vacation with their friends Danny (Colman Domingo), Danny's husband Claude (Marco Calvani), Nick (Steve Carell), and his wife Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver). According to FlixPatrol, the...

‘Four Seasons’ Star Tina Fey’s Shocking SNL Confession Proves Even Legends Are Haunted by Their Cringiest Mistakes
Image
Tina Fey is one of the most recognized names in Hollywood. Even if you don’t recognize her name, you have seen something she has written. From being a part of Saturday Night Live for years to creating classics like 30 Rock and Mean Girls, she has been ingrained in pop culture for decades now.

Most recently, she created and starred in The Four Seasons, finding yet another way to immortalize herself in the industry. With the amount of success that she has seen because of her comedy, one would assume that she does not take things too seriously and focuses on the present.

However, it would seem that regardless of how successful one becomes, one cannot outrun regret.

Tina Fey isn’t proud of everything she has made

When someone has made so many iconic films and sketches, one would assume that they would always be proud of the things they wrote.

The Long Walk Trailer Brings Stephen King's Bleakest Story To The Big Screen
Image
After spending years (and years) in development hell, one of Stephen King's earliest and most brutal novels is finally coming to the big screen — and we have proof! Lionsgate has released the first trailer for "The Long Walk," which hits theaters this fall. While King isn't one to pull punches, this is one of his most unflinchingly brutal works, with young men walking to their deaths while the last one standing wins a prize in a post-apocalyptic, grim vision of the future. Check it out for yourself above.

"The Long Walk" is very much akin to King's "Hunger Games," albeit without any YA flair. This is nitty, gritty, and very much R-rated. It perhaps makes sense that Francis Lawrence, known best for his work on "The Hunger Games" movies, is in the director's chair for this one. Lionsgate isn't giving us much by way of the plot, with the...

‘She’s just flawed’: Amanda Seyfried opens up about her personal connection to complex role in ‘Long Bright River’
Image
Amanda Seyfried says the decision to play Mickey Fitzpatrick, a police officer in the new Peacock limited series Long Bright River, stemmed from a combination of personal and creative motivations.

"The way Mickey's written is somebody who's in flux. She's in a constant internal struggle because she's trying to get through her days and life keeps coming at her. She's just flawed. Her generational trauma has manifested in so many ways to try to keep her safe," Seyfried explains. "I want to portray that because I think it's realistic and necessary to talk about certain things that she's struggling with."

The series, from showrunner Nikki Toscano based on the bestselling novel by Liz Moore, debuted all eight episodes on March 13. Set in Philadelphia, Long Bright River blends crime thriller with a deeply emotional family story. Seyfried's character, Mickey, is a beat cop who must track down a killer preying on...

‘The Four Seasons’ Netflix Review: Tina Fey’s Comedy Is A Delightful Blend Of Comedy And Heart
Image
I suppose the last time I enjoyed an English-language Netflix show so much was when I watched Nobody Wants This. It’s hard to capture an audience, especially with comedy, because it’s something that’s taken for granted, but when a show is written with so much heart, you can really tell while watching it, no? The Four Seasons, a reimagining of the 1981 cult classic of the same name, tells the story of 3 married couples—best friends—over the course of 4 vacations, each in a different season. The 8-episode show gets split into 2 episodes per season. In the opening act, we meet Kate and Jack, the first couple. Soon after, we’re introduced to Danny and Claude, and finally Nick and Anne, the couple that’s celebrating their 25th anniversary. As the show progresses, we come to realize that things aren’t as smooth sailing as they seem. When...

When Anne Hathaway Framed Her ‘Size 6’ Padding From ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ For Her Office
Image
Anne Hathaway Framed Butt Pad ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Anne Hathaway didn’t just walk away from The Devil Wears Prada with a career breakthrough — she walked away with her butt pad. Literally. The same one she wore in the movie’s early scenes to play a size six version of Andy Sachs. And she had it framed. Plaque and all.

“So I had a butt pad, and I took it at the end of the film and I’ve had it framed with a little plaque underneath that says, ‘Andy’s A**,’” Hathaway said back in 2006. Yep, that scene-stealing prop from her pre-makeover days became office décor.

In The Devil Wears Prada, Hathaway played Andy, the frumpy but ambitious journalist who landed the job “a million girls would kill for.” Her boss? The ice-cold, high-fashion dragon Miranda Priestly, played by a terrifyingly perfect Meryl Streep. From the second Andy stepped...

Image
Sandra Bullock became a star with her breakthrough film Speed, but it was her string of hits in the late ‘90s and 2000s that made her a household name. One of those beloved modern-day classics is the action comedy Miss Congeniality, which put Bullock on the map. The film was a huge hit at the box office and even got a sequel, which was not as loved.

The film is set during a beauty pageant and follows FBI agent Gracie Hart infiltrating the pageant as a participant to bust a bomb threat. One of the most hilarious scenes in the film is when the show’s host, William Shatner, asks a participant for her perfect date. Her answer is the reason why April 25 is so important to Sandra Bullock fans.

Why is April 25 the perfect date to rewatch Sandra Bullock’s Miss Congeniality? A still from Miss Congeniality | Credits: Warner Bros....

CBS Has Decided the Fate of 'The Neighborhood's Marty and Malcom Spin-Off Series
Image
The Neighborhood won’t be expanding its boundaries any further, at least not for now. Two spin-offs of the long-running sitcom were in development, including one centered on a new character named Francois, a.k.a. Crutch, and another focused on fan-favorite brothers Marty and Malcolm Butler. The former, which previously cast Tracy Morgan as its titular lead, has already been ordered to series at Paramount+. Unfortunately, the latter did not receive the same fate, as CBS has officially announced it will not be moving forward with the project. The news comes as the network continues to apply finishing touches to its programming lineup for the 2025–2026 TV season, which will include The Neighborhood Season 8, announced as the final outing for the beloved sitcom.

The cancelled spin-off had yet to be titled, but a story had already been mapped out. According to the official synopsis, it would have followed Marty (Marcel Spears...

Image
CBS is ordering two more series for the 2025-2026 broadcast season. “Dmv,” a comedy starring Harriet Dyer, and “Einstein,” a drama starring Matthew Gray Gubler, are moving forward at the network. Meanwhile, the broadcaster axed two of its one-season shows: “Poppa’s House” and “The Summit.”

Lindsay Lohan Lied About Drugs in Her Pants in 2007, Now She’s Playing a Liar in Her TV Debut? Hulu’s Irony Game Is Wild
Image
There used to be a time when Lindsay Lohan could pick out any role she wanted in Hollywood. That was before everything went haywire for LiLo. Her fall from grace was so prominent, it nearly wiped her presence away from our screens for an entire decade. Gone were the days of childish innocence she brought to life in The Parent Trap, or even her queen-bee energy from Mean Girls.

DUIs, possession, defamation, scandals—it almost felt like Lohan had become a magnet for everything that would bring her negative PR. But then again, the 2000s were crazy times. For Lohan, though, things would turn crazier. From getting busted twice while driving intoxicated, to lying to the cops about a bundle of ‘white powder’ in her pockets, and countless other charges and rehabilitation stints, she’d seen everything.

Well, in 2025, the Lindsay Lohan comeback has got its pedal to the metal.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Don’t Exactly Deny Fey Could Take the Reins at ‘SNL’
Image
Whose fault is it that old SNL pals Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have to deal with rumors about Fey taking over for Lorne Michaels? Blame their old boss, who only a year ago was intimating that he’d stick around through the SNL50 party and then ride off into the sunset. While he didn’t officially anoint Fey as his heir apparent, he might as well have, gushing, “Tina’s brilliant and great at everything.” Without mentioning any other candidate by name, he proclaimed, “It could easily be Tina Fey.”

The problem? Michaels now says he isn’t going anywhere, leaving everyone else to answer succession questions as vaguely as possible. Answer “Yes, I’m interested,” and you look like an overambitious climber trying to push Michaels out. Answer “No, it’s not for me,” and you’ve eliminated yourself from consideration before the dream job is even posted.

Tina Fey on Her New Netflix Series: “It Saved Me From Just Shrinking Up Like a Little Granny Apple Head”
Image
Tina Fey is wearing a matching pajama set, perched on the edge of an oversized chair and discussing her tenure as a receptionist at the Evanston, Illinois, Ymca in the early ’90s. The men were gross, the commute from Chicago was long, but it paid for her Second City improv classes.

This intimate scene plays out onstage for 5,000 people. It’s the audience Q&a closer during a Detroit stop on Fey and Amy Poehler’s Restless Leg Tour, where one attendee even asks the women, without any context, whether she should quit her job. (The answer is yes.) The two finish each show like this. They tailored the 90-minute set to their preferred wardrobes and bedtimes as much as their devoted fans’ tastes. Fey and Poehler can make it back to their respective hotel rooms and into their real PJs by 10 o’clock.

Later, Fey tells me about how...

It’s been almost a year since Kenya Moore got fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

But because a season of reality TV can take a very long time to produce, we’re just getting the full story now.

As you may recall, Kenya was kicked to the curb in response to an act of revenge porn perpetrated against castmate Brit Eady.

On Sunday night’s episode, we finally got to see how it all went down — and it was messy.

Ginny & Georgia’s Mang Is Just a Try Hard Embarrassing Version of Mean Girls’ Plastics Without the Self-Awareness
Image
It has been over two decades since Mean Girls hit the silver screen, becoming a cultural phenomenon in the process, whose ripples can still be felt in the teen drama genre, including the Netflix show, Ginny & Georgia. Created by Sarah Lampert, the Netflix original instantly garnered traction upon its arrival.

Mean Girls | Credit: Paramount Pictures

But despite dominating the charts since its inception back in 2021, the show dropped the ball with its main faction, which is primarily a watered-down version of Plastics, minus the edge.

Mang has nothing on Mean Girls‘ Plastics

Despite sharing many parallels with Mean Girls, Ginny & Georgia‘s attempts to take a more mature approach with its drama, and for its humor, the show often leans toward the dark comedy aspect. But amidst the tension between the dramatic and comedic moments, the show pulls off neither, and Mang highlights everything that is wrong with the show.

NBCUniversal brought out the big guns for this year's Emmy kick-off luncheon.

Renée Zellweger, Tina Fey, Natasha Lyonne, and Amanda Seyfried were among the bold-faced names making the scene at the Sls Hotel's Garden Room and Terrace in Beverly Hills. The annual event honors new and returning award-aspiring shows within the entire NBCU family. Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson served as the DJ.

"People are kind," Zellweger told Gold Derby about the positive fan reaction to her Peacock film Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. They really, like me, love spending time in her universe, so it's a cool thing when you walk around and have something in common with folks that you've never met before."

Lindsay Lohan: Unrecognizable in Shocking Appearance on Bravo!
Image
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Lindsay Lohan was recently a guest on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

The actress reunited at one point with Mean Girls co-star Lacey Chabert and confirmed that she may one day star in an Ann-Margaret biopic.

The response to Lohan’s appearance, however, focused a lot less on what she said with her mouth … and a lot more with how she looked.

Especially when it came to her face.

Lindsay Lohan appears here on Watch What Happens Live. (Bravo)

Lohan has been largely out of the spotlight for a number of years.

She has appeared in the occasional music video or narrated the occasional television series over the past few years, but it’s easy to forget at this point that Lohan was a celebrity gossip mainstay for years back in the early and mid-2000s.

Not always for the most positive of reasons, either.
