The film was shown in the cinemas in India and Africa. But due to copy right issues the film was ordered by the Indian courts to be destroyed. The movie had taken ideas from a Danny Kaye movie Knock on Wood (1954). The producers of the English movie won the case so fortunately those who were lucky enough to see the film were shocked that the film was no longer available to watch. But the music soundtrack was the only thing left from the movie for people to remember.
Despite the ban and withdrawal of the film. Songs like "Aye Pyase Dil Bezuban" sung by Mukesh and pictured on composer Jaikishan continued to be played on the radio and became a classic hit in years to come and is still remembered.
The film ran for 10 days at the cinema before they pulled out all the copy's of it from the big screen and destroyed the film due to copyright issues in 1957.
