I saw this film two years ago at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival and it was absolutely amazing. Few films these days are great and I've added it to my list of independent films to recommend to friends, family and colleagues. The story line was well thought out, directing was superb, the actors blew me away and the music was a character of its own. This film took my understanding of the Hispanic family to another level. As I sat in the theater watching I tried my hardest to hold back tears but was unsuccessful because the actors had me absolutely captivated. I commend the director on a job well down and look forward to films from him in the future.

It was very well done and included all the pieces that come together to make a truly good film: Well thought out plot; good music, fantastic actors, and high overall production value. As I sat in the theatre, I found myself becoming increasingly involved with the film. I began to share the emotions that were put forth by the actors, which is hard to say for a lot of films nowadays. I would definitely recommend this film to anybody. Bravo!

ladyofflowers200222 March 2005I think this movie is FANTASTIC: the first time that i've seen the movie,i was without voice for the emotion and please believe me,is a movie that leave without words. I usually didn't make in love with a movie,specially of once,but CAFE' AND TOBACCO have hit my heart...i don't explain why but have take me completely. The story,the characters,the music;is a continuous overcome of passions. Tico and George characters are extraordinaries,Marisol is a sweet woman;is the simplicity,the sweetness and sympathy of characters. The soundtrack is really romantic and is like when you listen the song of waves,you can close your eyes and imagine all this. I think this movie deserve to be saw,and win again.
