Counting On alum Amy Duggar King has been making headlines following the recent lawsuit of her husband, Dillon. She already mentioned the closure of their restaurant several weeks ago. But she never acknowledged her husband’s inability to pay rent for their restaurant, which ultimately led to massive punishments. Dillon reportedly fought back against the “unfair” judgment he faced. But it seems he only made things worse. Keep reading to see his new punishment.
Counting On: Dillon King Tried To Fight Back
Dillon recently caught the attention of many after documents surfaced showing his response to his $236K punishment. The Counting On alum was asked to pay such an amount for missing his second payment to settle his unpaid rent. He explained, “It is admitted that the agreement was signed, and the first payment was made. However, the remaining allegations are denied – and payment has been offered,” asking the court to reconsider its ruling.

Mattel, the toy company behind Barbie and Hot Wheels, is developing a feature film about the stereoscopic image device View-Master.
The live-action movie will be developed with Sony Pictures and Escape Artists. View-Master has been around since 1939. In a press release, Mattel described the toy as a “popular childhood staple for generations,” one that has “taken its fans all over the world with its 3-D image reels, creating worlds of imagination and storytelling for every adventure seeker at heart.” How this will translate to the big screen isn’t yet clear, though the movie is billed as a “four-quadrant family adventure.”
“View-Master has inspired generations to embark on boundless adventures, offering a treasure trove of storytelling possibilities for this film,” said Robbie Brenner, president of Mattel Films. “We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Escape Artists’ Todd Black to bring this Mattel franchise to life. Blame the Game, or Spieleabend, is a new German comedy-drama film on Netflix based on the very uncomfortable situation that might arise when a current and ex-lover come face-to-face. The plot is centered around this very discomfort and the ensuing chaos as Pia brings her new boyfriend, Jan, to a usual game night with her close friends. While Blame the Game also briefly touches upon matters like class difference and the characteristic snobbery of the rich, it ultimately sticks to the comedy formula, with an ending that goes happily for almost everyone around.
Spoiler Alert
What is the Netflix film about?
As a comedy film centered around a lot of coincidences, Blame the Game opens with a meeting between the two protagonists by chance at a local park. As a young man named Jan cycles around for exercise, he suddenly realizes that his pet dog, Eddi, has established a bit...

Brie Larson showed up to the “Lessons in Chemistry” set ready to play — both figuratively and literally. The Oscar-winner brought with her two huge storage bins filled with games she’d haul to every location.
“I started doing it when I was filming ‘The Marvels’ during the pandemic,” Larson reveals. “We were in bubbles and didn’t have the nor- mal situation where the actors could hang out together and bond. So, my bubble would play games to pass the time.”
She then brought the party to the set of the Apple TV+ limited series, which she also executive produced. Based on the bestselling novel by Bonnie Garmus, “Lessons in Chemistry” tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, a brilliant chemist who ends up hosting a 1960s cooking show, which she uses to educate housewives on more than just meal preparation.

Mattel and Universal are partnering on a Monster High movie. The Monster High toy line features characters who are teenagers inspired by classic monsters. The already robust Monster High franchise could potentially support a live-action blockbuster.
Monster High will be following Barbie to the big screen. The latter title, which was a Greta Gerwig-directed live-action comedy starring Margot Robbie as the titular doll, was a worldwide phenomenon when it was released in 2023. The Barbie box office ballooned to $1.45 billion by the end of its theatrical run, breaking records and becoming the highest-grossing movie of the year. In the wake of the movie's success, other movies based on Mattel toys have either gone into pre-production or progressed further in development including Polly Pocket and Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.
Per TheWrap, the latest Mattel toy to join these movie properties is Monster High. The characters in the toy line, which was launched in 2010, are supernatural,...

Hey, it worked for Barbie.
Mattel’s next feature film based on a doll will be a live-action, theatrical Monster High movie written and produced by Akiva Goldsman and distributed by Universal Pictures. The gist of the Monster High fashion-doll line is that they are the children of iconic monsters, like Frankie Stein (the daughter of Frankenstein’s monster and his bride), Draculaura (the daughter of Dracula), and Clawdeen Wolf (the daughter of a werewolf mom and a human dad).
Goldsman’s banner Weed Road will produce the film. Goldsman, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of “A Beautiful Mind,” is also a producer on Mattel Films’ upcoming Major Matt Mason movie starring Tom Hanks. The announcement of that toy adaptation, which is set up at Paramount Pictures, preceded “Barbie.”
Kevin McKeon and Arturo Thur De Koos will oversee the Monster High movie for Mattel; Greg Lessans has oversight for Weed Road.

Major development in The Wheel of Time teases Perrin's original team-up story, with elements from the books but also new twists. Potential reunion with Uno in Tel'aran'rhiod opens up exciting possibilities for Perrin's journey in The Wheel of Time Season 3. Uno could be Perrin's key ally in facing villains in both waking world and the World of Dreams, bridging different storylines in the series.

The Wheel of Time finale sets up a new storyline for a main character, changing details while staying true to the source material. Uno's connection to Gaidal Cain hints at a potential romance with Birgitte Silverbow in future seasons of the show. Uno's role as Gaidal Cain provides an easy way for the character to return in season 3 and be involved in key storylines.
A twist in The Wheel of Time season 2 finale laid the groundwork for a future main character to get a different story when they eventually join the fold. In the course of two seasons, Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books has made the show's willingness to change certain elements of the source material abundantly clear. That approach was also applied to The Wheel of Time season 2's ending, which brought the final chapters of The Great Hunt to life on the small screen.

Saul Goodman's Cinnabon life hit hard for Breaking Bad viewers as it showcased his tragic fate post-Walt's downfall. Meeting Tuco in Better Call Saul connected the two series in thrilling ways, showing the Salamanca danger. Insightful Breaking Bad appearances and connections in Better Call Saul made scenes hit harder for dedicated viewers.
Better Call Saul was an insightful character study of a man on a path of diminishing morally that was made more interesting through knowledge of the events of Breaking Bad. While there may be some viewers who enjoyed the prequel series Better Call Saul without having also watched the tragic story of high-school teacher turned meth kingpin Walter White in Breaking Bad, there were countless scenes that hit so much harder when knowing the full story of both series. The journey of the misguided earnest lawyer Jimmy McGill into the dastardly criminal lawyer Saul Goodman was full of clever callbacks to Breaking Bad.

Billie Eilish’s ex can now blame Christian Bale for the end of their relationship.
In a new interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg ahead of the Academy Awards, Eilish shared that she had an epiphany about her relationship after seeing The Dark Knight actor in a dream.
“I got to be real,” Eilish said as her brother Finneas let out a laugh. “A couple years ago I had a dream about Christian Bale and it was at a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize that I had to breakup with my boyfriend.

Many well-known and popular games are available for free on Steam, including MMOs like Guild Wars 2 and social simulations like The Sims 4. Free games on Steam often have microtransactions for cosmetic items or expansions but still offer a lot of fun gameplay without additional purchases. There are plenty of high-quality Aaa titles that are available at zero cost.
As fun as it is to buy a brand-new game, sometimes it just isn't feasible with the budget, but, luckily, many games are available as free-to-play on Steam. In “Masters of the Universe,” He-Man’s nemesis is the evil wizard Skeletor. In Hollywood, his greatest threat has been a list of studio partners that have sidelined him from the big screen for nearly two decades.
The blond barbarian, based on a popular set of Mattel toys, may finally win the day. Amazon MGM Studios is in serious talks to mount a live-action “Masters of the Universe” movie from Adam and Aaron Nee, the writing and directing team behind “The Lost City,” according to multiple insiders. Conversations are taking place with Amazon after Netflix dropped a planned version of the Nee brothers film in July.
Netflix spent nearly $30 million in development costs over two years for the project, which was meant to star Kyle Allen (“A Haunting in Venice”). The streamer walked away when the tentpole’s budget, originally set for more than $200 million, could not be meaningfully reduced.

Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" became a bona fide hit this year. After it premiered this July, the film grossed over $1.4 billion worldwide, which, according to Box Office Mojo, makes it the highest-grossing movie of the year so far, beating films like "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "Oppenheimer," and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." Since it's pulled in passionate audiences worldwide, it's no wonder Mattel is eager to make even more movies inspired by its popular toy brands. Its upcoming film slate is being dubbed the "Mattel Universe." While the success of "Barbie" has certainly helped push the company to begin development on these films, the Mattel Universe has actually been years in the making. Let us explain.
How Did the Mattel Cinematic Universe Begin?

Barbie's success at the box office is being misinterpreted by movie studios, who are greenlighting more toy-based films instead of prioritizing movies about women with feminist themes. Hollywood should focus on making more movies by and about women. Movie studios have failed to learn from the success of past female-led blockbusters like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel. Despite their high earnings, there is still a lack of female-centric films in the MCU and Dcu. The success of Barbie cannot be attributed solely to the toy brand. The movie's exploration of mother-daughter relationships and its empowering narrative contributed to its popularity.
Barbie has become a huge financial success for Warner Bros., but Hollywood movie studios have completely misunderstood that success, and two other movies prove it. “Barbie” already generating more than $1 billion at the global box office may not even be its biggest contribution to movie theaters.
A new survey from The Quorum found that 11 percent of those who saw “Barbie” had not been to a movie theater since before the Covid-19 pandemic. Another 11 percent could not recall the last time they had been to a movie theater.
Assuming the latter group is not made up of goldfish (“Ted Lasso” famously reminded us of their ultra-short attention span), that means 22 percent, or a bit less than one quarter, of “Barbie” ticket-buyers hadn’t stared up at the silver screen since that initial lockdown period upended all our lives and nearly ruined the theatrical-distribution business.
The Quorum’s study surveyed 1,800 Americans who went to the theater to see “Barbie” over its first three weeks of availability. The researchers asked: “How often do you see a theater in a movie?...

JJ Abrams opens up and teases his Hot Wheels movie, calling it "emotional and grounded." A year ago, it was announced that the filmmaker known for work on the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises is producing the live-action adaptation of Hot Wheels, which had been stuck in development since 2003. Earlier this year, the project started moving full speed ahead with Dalton Leeb and Nicholas Jacobson-Larson writing the adaptation of the Mattel toys, though a script has yet to materialize.
In a recent report by The New Yorker on the many Mattel movies in development, Abrams opened up and teased what to expect from his Hot Wheels movie. He started by mentioning how the adaptation had been stuck in development for many years, though it was the idea to make it "emotional and grounded and gritty" that finally got the project rolling. Read what Abrams said below:

I love you, you love me, let’s make a fringe Mattel movie…As the feature-length adaptation of the iconic toy Barbie awaits its big screen release, in the shadows waits Barney, with the upcoming movie now being described as a “surrealistic”, “A24-type” movie. And we have just bumped it to the top of our most anticipated movie list, now that we know Baby Bop gets decapitated after suffering from a walnut allergy.
The slated Barney movie, which is produced by Daniel Kaluuya, is looking to hit a key demographic — that is, those that know the purple dinosaur from their youth. According to Mattel Films vice president Kevin McKeon, speaking with The New Yorker, “We’re leaning into the millennial angst of the property rather than fine-tuning this for kids…It’s really a play for adults. Barbie is seemingly just the beginning for Mattel, who has 45 movies in development based on their many toys. The Barbie movie stars Margot Robbie as Barbie, who leaves Barbie Land to go on a journey of self-discovery in the real world. Despite not coming out until July 21, Barbie is already gaining attention on social media, signaling the film will be a success.
Now, The New Yorker reports that, because of the positive responses to the upcoming Barbie movie online, Mattel has 45 films in development based on their many toy brands. Of these 45, only 13 have been publicly announced, including Daniel Kaluuya's Barney the Dinosaur and a Hot Wheels film with J.J. Abrams attached. One quick shot in the Better Call Saul pilot set the tone for what Jimmy McGill's story would be. Throughout Breaking Bad, McGill a.k.a. Saul Goodman was there to assist Walter White, willing to partake in terrible crimes in order to accumulate more wealth. By the end of Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman was anything but a sympathetic figure, but Better Call Saul's ending allowed for a glimpse at a very different side of the character.
Nevertheless, showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould got Bob Odenkirk on board for the prequel, and set out to re-define the sleazy lawyer into a connectable character. Over the eight years of Jimmy McGill's life that Better Call Saul covers, viewers saw the character's decline into the Saul Goodman made famous by Breaking Bad, and his decision in the finale to accept responsibility for his actions. Better Call Saul’s first scene told viewers that Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman was gone before introducing Gene Takovic and Jimmy McGill. Bob Odenkirk got to play three different versions of the same character in Better Call Saul, including the classic Saul Goodman. However, Better Call Saul did not want to replicate what Breaking Bad had done with Saul, which the spinoff series’ opening sequence quickly established.
Despite the show being promoted as a Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul’s first scene was set after Walter White's death. The spinoff series confirmed that Saul Goodman had not been caught and managed to start a new life with a new identity, Gene Takovic. Better Call Saul’s opening sequence also summarized how much the character changed after Breaking Bad, even if only a few months had passed in the Breaking Bad timeline.

It’s a Barbie world, and we’re all just living in it.
What seems like a Mattel doll lifetime ago, Margot Robbie confirmed the “Barbie” live-action film adaptation in July 2019, with Greta Gerwig and partner Noah Baumbach co-writing the script. Gerwig was later announced to be directing the film.
The news marked the famed blonde-haired doll’s 60th anniversary. “Barbie” will premiere in theaters on July 21, 2023.
Robbie, who will star as Barbie opposite Ryan Gosling’s Ken, is slated to produce the film through her production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Mattel Films and HeyDay Films will co-produce.
The “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” star admitted that the film “comes with a lot of baggage and a lot of nostalgic connections” to honor the doll’s legacy. “But with that come a lot of exciting ways to attack it,” Robbie said to British Vogue. “People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think,...

Better Call Saul could not have taken a bigger risk with its debut episode, and boldly refused to justify that gamble until the very final season. Since Better Call Saul concluded in 2022, the Breaking Bad spinoff prequel has come to be broadly considered an unabashed triumph, equal to - maybe even superior to - its esteemed predecessor. That was not the case when Better Call Saul was announced in 2013. Given the almighty reputation of Breaking Bad and the long line of failed TV spinoffs in history's rearview, the prospect of a series focused entirely around Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill seemed more likely to backfire than catch fire.
Making a first impression was, therefore, very important for Better Call Saul. With the skeptics already looking for cracks, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould needed to get their opening move right. Better Call Saul season 1, episode 1, "Uno," opened with Jimmy McGill, now known as "Gene,...

“Better Call Saul” had all the means to relitigate “Breaking Bad.” There was a courtroom and witnesses and the eager attention of every viewer keen on seeing where Saul Goodman’s (Bob Odenkirk) fate would end up in relation to his former clients’. But as it did, time and again over the course of its six-season run, the “Better Call Saul” finale opted for a road of its own choosing.
At the same time, “Better Call Saul” was never going to be able to ignore its fellow Albuquerque show completely. Doing so would fall somewhere between foolishness and hubris. The idea that Jimmy McGill’s own turn for the worse could come fully independently of another six-season arc in recent memory, involving some of the same key players, just wasn’t feasible.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which emanates from Grand Rapids, Michigan – which means this was taped at the same time as this past weekend’s Battle of the Belts special. We’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary as usual so let’s get to the action!
Match #1: Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade def. Isaiah Broner, James Alexander, Brayden Lee, & Sam Moore
My Thoughts: So we open Dark with an 8-man quasi-squash match. Hey, at least Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade are getting “TV” time right? Right..? It seems both teams are floundering somewhat after the end of the Hfo/Ahfo so to see them in action is good, even more so when the in-ring action is good too!
