While helping his latest client woo the woman of his dreams, a professional "date doctor" finds that his game doesn't quite work on the gossip columnist with whom he's smitten.
According to Will Smith, the female lead was supposed to be Caucasian, but the producers did not want to make the lead couple interracial as it was considered a taboo. They also did not want the female lead to be black as they feared it would alienate white audiences. They decided to go with a Hispanic female lead.

In the opening narration Hitch says that communication is 60% body language and 30% is your tone meaning 90% of what you're saying "aint coming out of your mouth" However tone refers to the tone of your voice which does in fact come out of your mouth.
