John Krasinski and B.J. Novak went to high school together. They went to Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts, and they both graduated in 1997. They were even on the same little league baseball team.

In Season 1 Episode 4: The Alliance (2005), Michael asks Pam for upcoming birthdays and she tells him that none are coming up until next month and Meredith is the next person on the list. In Season 4 Episode 11: Night Out (2008), Angela tells Jim, "It's Birthday Month; after Creed, it's Oscar's turn, and Meredith's is at the end of the month."

Per IMDb rules, TV shows are free to change or rewrite back stories during the course of a series, especially ones that have been on for a number of years.

The episodes that originally aired on NBC and that appear on the DVDs are slightly different from the versions that air in syndication and on Netflix. For example, when episodes like "Stress Relief" and "Niagara" along with most of the other two parters originally aired, they aired as one extended episode. Additionally, several episodes have certain plot-lines or scenes that would later disappear, these are the versions that appear on the DVDs. On Netflix however, many of these scenes and plot-lines are missing from episodes and many extended episodes like the aforementioned ones were split into two parters. On the flip-side, there are even some scenes that were cut from the initial airings and appear as deleted scenes on the DVDs that appear on the Netflix versions.
