Black Friday is a film about the investigations following the 1993 serial Bombay bomb blasts, told through the different stories of the people involved --police, conspirators, victims, middlemen.

In the scene before the first blast at the Bombay Stock Exchange, one of the extras at the right of the screen is seen wearing a soccer jersey of the club Real Madrid which says "Beckham - 23". This is factually incorrect because Beckham only moved to Real Madrid in 2003, while the blasts occurred in 1993.
17 seconds' worth of cockfighting scenes had to be deleted from the UK version. UK law does not allow any film footage of actual animal cruelty that was deliberately orchestrated by the film-makers.
