An elderly amusement park maintenance man, Eddie, is trapped in purgatory and the only way out is to confront five people from his past. Unfortunately, dark secrets from his service in the Philippines begin to haunt him.
The newspaper headline in Eddie's apartment reads, "Police Doubt Fire Was Accidental". The same headline appears in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and is where the character gets her name.
This is a story about a man named Eddie. And it begins at the end, with Eddie dying in the sun. You might think it's strange to start a story with an ending, but all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time.
There are two boys on a ride. Eddie helps the one boy get out and he is handed a blue balloon. Then he helps the other boy out and his wife Marguerite hands that boy a yellow balloon. The camera then pans over to the boys heading to their mom but both boys are holding blue balloons instead of one blue and one yellow.
