| Most impressive version of Goethe's Faust I've ever seen!
What else shall I say?

I still remember the old man starting the drama, expressing his "Habe nun ach!" in a way, that we all can FEEL the pain he experienced, studying and not finding relieve in the knowledge he received and gathered, but not finding wisdom. Struggling with the "not-knowing-how-to-survive" and "not-getting-the answers-to-all-questions"...

Most impressive is, that he kept that suspense throughout the complete drama, even at his age of 77 then...

It's so sad, it's not available on Video or DVD... ;-(

Perhaps the Freie Volksbühne might rethink or the German TV might reschedule and broadcast it again?
