Goaded by his buddies, a nerdy guy who's never "done the deed" only finds the pressure mounting when he meets a single mother.
The writing team were given stacks of academic studies of older virgins by Universal Pictures. They were gratified to see that most of these virgins were not dissimilar to their lead character.
Hey Andy! What's up, dude?
Andy Stitzer: Hey Joe. Hey Sara. How you doing?
Joe: When you gonna get a car?
The second time Andy goes to work, as he shuts the door, a black SUV is reflected in the door as it closes. When we see the outside of the door from the inside of the store, there is only a railing, no SUV.
"Michael McDonald -- you rock!" At the end of the thanks and acknowledgments. Michael McDonald is the singer whose video appears endlessly in the background at the Smart Tech store and threatens the sanity of its employees.
When shown on TV in the intro when Andy walks to the bathroom and out we see his erection instead we see alternative footage where Andy has no erection and also omits the sound of Andy urinating.
