A security specialist is forced into robbing the bank that he's protecting, as a bid to pay off his family's ransom.
On the last days of principal photography at the "cabin" location outside Kamloops, British Columbia, Veronica McAleer, the make-up artist for Paul Bettany invited the crew to show her their scars so she could photograph them for inspiration in building the designs for Bettany's character make up in The Da Vinci Code (2006).
When Jack's secretary asks her boyfriend to lend her his phone while he's playing bass guitar in a live band, he has to stop playing to get the phone out of his pocket but the bass line in the music continues uninterrupted.
Warning: Spoilers ahead. In the last scene of the theatrical version, Jack Stanfield, his wife and son are shown in a closing profile shot walking up a hill and it fades to black. In the DVD version, it ends with an extra scene in an overhead crane shot of two police cars arriving while the family is walking towards them.
