Originally slated to premiere on 17 September 2004 on The WB for the network's fall 2004 lineup, the show was cancelled before it ever aired. Production was first pushed back for the replacement of original star Philip Winchester due to a broken foot. On 30 August 2004, Gerald McRaney underwent surgery for a cancerous lung tumor, further delaying production. Finally, the departure of producer Rachel Sweet led to The WB officially pulling the plug on the series on 21 October 2004.
