In the season two finale, Veronica Mars: Not Pictured (2006), the first name called during the graduation ceremony is John Enbom, who was a writer for the show.

Keith: No, it's not that simple...
Veronica: Yeah it is. The hero is the one that stays... and the villain is the one that splits.
It was said in a season one episode that Lianne (Corinne Bohrer) graduated from high school in 1979; however in episode 2.9, Veronica Mars: My Mother, the Fiend (2005), it is said she was still in high school in 1980.
The first season finale did not include the usual opening credit sequence. The credits simply appeared over an early scene.
