Writer-producer Simon Wolf scores another Couples success with this rom-com of a familiar theme: match-making via the internet.
Natalie Woods is set up for a blind date, the modern way, by her pal and the same thing happens with Joey Ray, and their coming together as lovers is presented in both a funny and arousing manner by veteran director Bud Lee. The subplots are effectively presented in Wolf's screenplay, and a pleasant, light mood is maintained throughout.
Wolf is famous for using animal actors in his films, but this time provides only the howl of a wolf to frighten the leads as they spend the night together at a cabin in the woods to propel their relationship forward. Natalie is a breath of fresh air, and in the accompanying interview on the DVD she gives a good account of her work on this project as well as a very fine Paul Thomas movie she starred in around the same time, "Sweetie Baby".
