  • The Male Groupie is a funny, sad, and realistic movie, that I highly recommend. When I watched this film, I laughed, I cried, I was furious, emotions were all over the place. The emotional roller coaster reaffirmed that this film is art in the purest form. True art makes an audience laugh, think, feel, and that is exactly what you can expect when you watch The Male Groupie. I applaud everyone involved in the making of this film, because they did not let down their viewers with this one, and I am looking forward to, and will be watching for their next undertaking. Please go and see this film and you too will be excited and totally satisfied with the outcome. HATS OFF TO THE OMARI DUO, cast and crew, now let's get the next one underway because I can't wait any longer!!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this film. It was one of the films presented in the HBO Showcase at the American Black Film Festival. WE focus on the female groupies but this movies exposes the guys that are riding other guys' coattails. Very funny!!! The story came across very well and there were several people that I was familiar with including the star of Playmakers. Dialogue was natural and not forced. I could easily see this as a b-plot of a feature film. Christopher or Morocco, I'd love to show this at my short film festival in Houston called Frame2Frame. I met you both at the ABFF. • I love how Cherot's films are filled with heart and humor. They make you laugh, they make you think. Good stuff.

My only complaint about TMGroupie was that it was too blanking short. I really want another full length film from Cherot. The characters in this movie were very realistic, completely believable. Though as you watch the male groupie, his actions make you cringe a little. Great character depictions. Wonderful performance by Omari.

Another thing I enjoy about Cherot's films is the great job he does of portraying real African Americans. Middle class Black Americans are SO under-portrayed and poorly portrayed in films. Always a nice perk of Cherot's movies.

The Male Groupie is a short by quality film. If you love Cherot's directing style and voice, you'll enjoy this film.
