This Dharmendra's home production was delayed for 6/7 years, Raj N.Sippy started this film after his superhit movie Inkaar 1977, the film was stuck when Parveen Babi left in 1979 and the film was stuck even when Parveen Babi came back they didn't shoot much. In 1985 this film was released and Parveen Babi's voice was dubbed.
Background music of Satte Pe Satta and Pukar was used in the film.
Dharmendra got busy with Betaab 1983 and put Sitamgar on the sidelines. Being a home production, he was able to do that. Producer Bikram Singh Dehal also told Raj Sippy to back off and report only when he was needed to make the film.

One of the clones of Muqaddar Ka Sikander 1978. Dharmendra is in love with Poonam who in turn loves Rishi while cabaret artist Parveen loves Dharam. Dharmendra is shown to be just a couple of years older than Poonam Dhillon who had played his son Sunny Deol's heroine around the same time.
