With this film, Sony became the first studio to release ten films that opened at #1 at the box office in a single year. The previous record of nine was also set by Sony in 2003, with the release of Something's Gotta Give (2003).

On the way to the first game, the players see a pretty girl in a Ford Mustang convertible next to the bus. The scene cuts to an aerial view. One of the players on the bus can be heard saying, "She's looking at me," but at that point, the Mustang with the girl in it is nowhere to be seen.
