  • To this day, I would consider Veronica Hart the best porn actress of all time. I was curious about her subsequent move to directing features, but "Chasing Destiny" is a loser.

It has a decent cast and okay acting but Veronica doesn't seem to keep her story in mind. Long stretches of the film devolve into mere sex scenes and add nothing to the plot that was introduced at the outset. Eventually she returns to the story and hastily resolves it, but the lion's share of footage might as well be gonzo.

Title tips off the theme: pretty makeup artist Roxanne Hall becomes obsessed with a letter from 1947 that was never delivered, bringing out the romantic (at a soap- opera level) in her. I've seen the awful "Letters to Juliet' made on this theme several years later for mainstream audiences, and even that one is better than this.

Hall is always worth watching, and is upstaged by her cute roommate Violet Blue (who in recent years has switched over to Lesbian Cinema renaming herself oddly "Noname Jane"), who provides a hot d.p. scene with two workmen.

But that d.p. exercise is just one of half a dozen extraneous sexual diversions, clearly what backer VCA Labs wants for its money, but hardly worth the effort of the illustrious Ms. Hart.
