Wonderful Skye-borne romance
For her first Wicked Pictures release, Skye Blue delivered a wonderful erotic romance, on a par with those classic Adam & Eve pictures of just a few years earlier. Alas, this sort of Adult filmmaking is now nearly gone with the wind, overtaken by the onslaught of wall-to-wall (with token "intro set-up scenes) sex projects.
The fantasy premise, a light and frothy one in the "Brigadoon" vein, has salt of the earth workman Pat Myne as the unlikely central protagonist of Skye and collaborator Brandon Blackburn's story (which Skye credits to an original concept from frequent crew member/journeyman actor Anthony Crane).
Pat literally falls in love with a Goya-esque portrait painting for sale by his boss, art dealer Steven French. It depicts a Victorian Era lady Simone, who fancifully comes to life (at least in Pat's imagination) in the form of Stormy Daniels, looking extremely lovely early in her career. (Trusty IMDb reveals he was married in real life to Stormy when this movie was shot.)
Skye moves smoothly back and forth from the current day, wherein super-tall and cooly sexy Brit Porn import Ashley Long seduces French in order to drive down the cost of the painting she wants for her collection) and beautiful romantic Victorian scenes that make up the bulk of the picture. Settings and especially set dressings, plus lavish English garden and fountain exteriors, provide the romance, as Stormy is either a voyeuse or participant in memorably arousing threesomes or pairings. Nicole Sheridan and Voodoo are another real-life couple in action, and Mario Rossi has a very hot 3-way with Lisa Marie and a strap-on wielding Jezebelle Bond. Not to be outdone, Stormy's Sapphic sex scene with Kellemarie is a work of art.
I loved the melancholy open ending to the story, and once again we see how an interesting context and some fine acting can make all the difference between generic sex footage vs. arousing erotic entertainment.
