A drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and World War II correspondent Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway's inspiration for For Whom the Bell Tolls, and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer.
The first scene held between Hemingway and Gellhorn is set in Sloppy Joe's, still an incresibly popular bar and music venue in Key West. Sloppy Joe's has been open since 1933.

During the scene at the hotel, after the bomb (51'23"), Hemingway is shown using a photographer's vest with a plastic zipper. These weren't made until the 60's.
