First of all, as in the other movie of Giritlioglu "Salkım Hanımın Taneleri", this movie's focus was balanced between the life of the main character Behcet and the historical events of 6-7 September 1955. When I first saw the trailer, I thought that the movie was going to be as good as the Turkish series "Hatırla Sevgili" which included more elements of history. But Guz Sancisi has a more micro focus and it shows the effects of the events on Behcet's life. A macro focus with a more detailed history would have been more interesting. Well someone could argue that this is the function of documentary. However I think that this kind of movies should not be shading the history element by using the love element. And the character Behcet seemed to me, that it was taken from another movie: his weakness, his obedience, his incapability to save his friends... Anyway, I had dreamed of more of the subject

About the performance of the actors, I would like to say that it was very good. Turkish actors and actresses successfully performs their characters. I congratulate them for such a nice show. And the screening was beautiful, the streets of Pera were amazing. The sound might have been better, I quite didn't understand what Elena said until the end of her sentence when she was speaking to Behcet. Anyway, overall the movie deserves a nice 7:)
  • Although supposedly this is a movie about Turks and Greeks, if one watches it, it becomes very clear that it is a movie about the spectrum of attitudes that existed within Turkish society about the stance that should be followed towards the Greeks. The are no important Greek characters in the movie and the whole plot has to do with conflicts within Turkish society, character conflicts and portrayals of good and evil Turks. One Greek character exists that s the personification of what a respectable middle-class Turk would regard as disrespectable. The aesthetic elements of the movie are impressive and in the end an array of photographs from the events of September was so interesting that made the spectators watch the titles of the end.

the movie should considered to be one of the Turkish historical movies we all know each country had its share of hard times and wars and there is no country become what its now without struggling .the move best scene should goes for the streets where you can see its filled with the Greek people staff and for people who watched the movie they wont expect it s a real scene until they watch the really photos about it . there is always something special about Turkish movies ending see somewhere at the middle its like you give up and you ll say what ever the ending might be it will be a satisfied one . it doesn't matter cause after what Elena (Beren Saat) and Behçet (Murat Yildirim) been through even if she died between his arms it will be a good ending cause they had their share of troubles even thought if she lived it will be good ending too it s like the director left it for the audience to decide . greatest idea at this movie can be seen when Behçet start to see cockroaches around his apartment as if its a sign of being a rat.
