Sycophants of Viv Thomas will be quite pleased to know I have elected to ignore the Great Man's work in my current survey of early 21st Century Brit Porn. The kool aid has been disseminated and downed, and he has been well and truly elevated to Mount Olympus for some obscure reason by the fans, making my overview superfluous.
But I have stumbled through a couple of his videos, and see no reason to suffer further. This pro-am junker, just a bunch of footage that would not fit comfortably on Volume 1 (though if Viv had pacted back then with his current Stateside distributor Girlfriends Films, they would have issued a 3 or 4 hour version intact at no extra cost to the punter) is generic porn at its most ordinary.
It has the attractive Vera auditioning fresh lesbian meat and cavorting with a variety of attractive femmes, of which Sandra Shine was the easiest on my eyes. A profusion of lookalike blondes merely added to the tedium/repetitious factor. Use of crew member on screen giving the girls directions, an opening scene of rehearsing in broken English, snatches of untranslated Hungarian, plus poorly done verite camera techniques add up to Amateurishness with a capital A. Amateur porn and gonzo now rule the roost, and "Vera" is simply not competitive with the freebies which abound.
The gal herself is overly self-indulgent without Viv's intervention. Her bonus masturbation "to climax" segment is frankly embarrassing. Give me any, and there are 600 lengthy features to choose from, of Girlfriends Films' own videos or the even better content on its main competitor Sweetheart Video's label, over this VT junk.
